"We had no possible way of imagining that Ossama bin Laden would attack within the US."

"The title of your daily briefing in mid July was 'Ossama determined to attack within the US'."

"Well, I didn't attend that briefing.  Or any briefings that month.  And I got bad Intel."

An interesting point to the above Tweet.  A 20-year NYPD veteran, clear photos and videos - widely circulated -  showing his face as he violently attacks cops, and not a single NYPD cop alerts authorities as to his identity.  He turned himself in.

The Bundy Ranch standoff should definitely be seen as a major catalyst for where we are today. Fox News went out of its way to legitimize the behavior of the militias. Probably radically spiked their popularity.

Absolutely. It also showed the right wing extremists how far they could go without actually getting shot up. Those Bundy Ranch guys were literally drawing beads on LE with loaded rifles and absolutely nothing happened to them.

After the Capitol Insurrection, Telegram Moved to Ban White Nationalists. Today, It’s a Different Story.

For a moment last month, it looked like Telegram was finally doing something about its neo-Nazi problem. The secure messaging app, whose largely untraceable platform has laudably provided a safe haven of communication for people in autocratic countries even under government pressure, has also proven popular among racists who have been kicked off other platforms. Telegram largely did nothing about those users until last month, when, shortly after the January 6 riot at the Capitol, the company finally started taking down white supremacist and neo-Nazi channels, the app’s term for public-facing chat groups which, similar to Twitter, allow creators to send messages to anyone who signs up.

But within weeks, Telegram appears to have lost its sudden interest in banning white supremacists, according to researchers monitoring the platform. “A lot of the banned groups just immediately reformed and gained back huge numbers of their followers,” says Emmi Bevensee, a Mozilla Open Web Fellow and PhD student at the University of Arizona who tracks extremism online. “The terrorgram channels particularly are extremely agile,” Bevensee said, referring to the loose network of Telegram channels where pro-Nazi, anti-semitic memes using glitchwave and cyberpunk aesthetics are shared.

Bevensee and Max Aliapoulios, a PhD student at New York University studying cybersecurity, who are both contributors to the Social Media Analysis Toolkit, say there’s evidence to suggest Telegram’s limited actions had little effect. After looking at data they pulled from the platform, Bevensee said, “we did not notice a dramatic change in the volume of hate and conspiracies on Telegram in the time surrounding enforcement,” caveating that while their data sets were comprehensive, it’s possible that they missed some far-right channels.

Other researchers who track extremism online, including Marc-André Argentino, a PhD candidate at Concordia University, and activist Gwen Snyder reported similar patterns of users of banned channels quickly regrouping elsewhere on Telegram. And I, monitoring the app during the crackdown, saw what they described firsthand. As Telegram cracked down on white supremacist Telegram channels, the poster immediately started spreading the names of backup accounts to their followers. In a lot of cases, they were brazen enough to just name the new channel their old name plus a “2.”

Moron-Taylor Greene's close friend is Anthony Aguero.  He boasted on social media about being one of the rioters inside the Capitol.

Aguero has been a Greene associate since 2019.  As recently as November they traveled to the border together.

MAGA Couple Who Boasted About Storming The Capitol Arrested By FBI

The FBI has arrested a Kentucky couple for their alleged involvement in last month’s Capitol riots after the woman boasted in a TV interview that she “would do it again tomorrow”.

Federal officials say that Lori Ann Vinson, along with her husband Thomas Roy Vinson, were arrested in connection to the violence that happened at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

The Daily Boulder obtained the criminal complaint against the couple. In the complaint, federal agents say they received tips about the couple. One of those tips included a conversation one tipster had with Lori about Lori being at the capitol on the day of the riot.

The criminal complaint by the FBI cites the interviews where Mrs. Vinson went on record and detailed how she and her husband got into the Capitol building and exclaimed she was not sorry about her actions.

She also said in her interview that she lost her job as a nurse after her employer saw her social media posts about her visit to Washington.

“I would do it again tomorrow,” Mrs. Vinson told 14News on 14 January, according to the criminal complaint.

Capitol Rioter with ‘Slicked Back’ Hair Faces Charges After His Banker Identified Him to the Feds

Federal prosecutors in Washington, D.C. have identified and charged a man they say assaulted a Capitol police officer during the Jan. 6th siege on the U.S. Capitol Complex. According to a criminal complaint unsealed Wednesday, the defendant, Clayton Ray Mullins, stood out in videos of the scene due to his hairstyle. Mullins is accused of attacking an officer known in the documents only as “A.W.”

“In the footage, MULLINS was observed wearing a dark colored jacket, black gloves and light blue jean pants,” the complaint reads. “Numerous videos and photographs of MULLINS assaulting A.W. were posted on Twitter, primarily under the hashtag #seditionhunters. In addition, the hashtag #slickback began trending in relation MULLINS and the slicked back style in which he wore his hair.”

Authorities tracked down Mullins due to a tip that he held a Kentucky driver’s license. Authorities used that information to track down his bank accounts; a witness known in the documents only as W-1 at FNB Bank, Inc., told investigators that Mullins had banked with the company for 30 years. W-1 identified Mullins in a photo taken at the capitol on Jan. 6th.

Capitol Police chief warns militia groups want to 'blow up the Capitol' when Biden addresses Congress

cting US Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman warned Thursday that militia groups involved in the January 6 insurrection want to "blow up the Capitol" and "kill as many members as possible" when President Joe Biden addresses Congress.

Pressed by House lawmakers to provide a timeline for removing the razorwire fencing and other enhanced security measures installed after the US Capitol attack, Pittman said law enforcement remains concerned about threats by known militia groups "with a direct nexus to the State of the Union" address.

"We know that members of the militia groups that were present on January 6 have stated their desires that they want to blow up the Capitol and kill as many members as possible with a direct nexus to the State of the Union, which we know that date has not been identified," she told House lawmakers during Thursday's hearing on security failures related to January 6.

I'm certain that Members get requests for tours all the time. And the only vetting they do is checking to see if they're from the district, and whether they donated any money.

THE HIDDEN ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY - THE REPUBLICAN ATTORNEYS GENERAL ASSOCIATION, THE RULE OF LAW DEFENSE FUND, AND DARK MONEY

After the January 6 “Stop the Steal” event at the Capitol, @MarkPedroli and I requested records of communications between Missouri’s Attorney General’s Office and dark money groups that issued a robocall recruiting people to the event.

We received 90 pages of documents that show the influence of these secretive organizations over state Attorneys General and their staff.

The records showed:

So, we've discovered that a political action committee claiming to represent Republican Attorneys General met with the staff of said AGs, in the months near an election?
