Wichita Falls man who planned to “kill off 70% of internet” sentenced to federal prison

A Wichita Falls man who plotted to blow up an Amazon data center in Virginia is sentenced to federal prison today.

Seth Aaron Pendley pleaded guilty in June to a malicious attempt to destroy a building with an explosive device and was sentenced to 10 years by U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor. He faced a maximum of 20 years.

Pendley was arrested in April while trying to buy C-4 explosive from an undercover FBI agent in Fort Worth.

Authorities searched his home in Wichita Falls and found an AR-15 receiver, mask, wigs, maps and other items.

Pendley admitted that he disclosed his plan to blow up an Amazon data center to a confidential source in January and he hoped it “Would kill off 70% of the internet” including service to the CIA and FBI.

Pendley also claimed to have been present at the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and said though he did not enter the building, he came prepared with a sawed-off ar rifle.

What a ****ing tool.

Those datacenters are built to literally survive large earthquakes and still run. They have multiple layers of power, cooling, and systems redundancy. Did he really think a couple pounds of C4 was going to take one down?

Well, he has 10 years in a prison cell to think about what he did.

And I would certainly assume that there are multiple, redundant, centers.

Third Oath Keeper Flips

Mark Grods is the third member of the Oath Keepers to plead guilty to conspiracy charges and agree to cooperate with the investigation. You can read his statement of information, stating what he will plead guilty to and facts supporting those charges that he is admitting, HERE.

Grods admits that he was part of a conspiracy against the United States and that the “purpose of the conspiracy was to stop, delay, and hinder the Certification of the Electoral College vote.”

He admits to “attending or scheduling trainings to teach and learn paramilitary combat tactics in advance of the January 6 operation.”

He admits to “bringing and contributing paramilitary gear and supplies — INCLUDING FIREARMS, camouflaged combat uniforms, tactical vests with plates, helmets, eye protection, and radio equipment — for the January 6 operation.”

He admits to “FORCIBLY storming past exterior barricades, Capitol Police, and other law enforcement officers.”

He admits that he “BROUGHT FIREARMS to Washington, D.C., and eventually provided them to another individual to store in a Virginia hotel.”

Note about this last one. Other charging documents from the government allege that the Oath Keeper plot including having a heavily armed “QRF” (quick reaction force) that would bring heavy weapons into the Capitol once Trump deputized them by invoking the Insurrection Act and calling forth a citizen’s militia (that would be them). None of those in those who stayed in this hotel with the QRF have been arrested yet. They will be.

Reading the rest of this article, apparently he has been cooperating with the Feds for a while. He was arrested and charged the day before this story and plead guilty the next day. The plea deal & his knowledge about the insurrectionists planning took place during the weeks before the guilty plea was announced. Good work by the Feds.

And in other insurrectionist news:

New York mother, son arrested in theft of Pelosi's laptop

NCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A New York mother and son have been charged with theft in aiding the disappearance of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s laptop during the Jan. 6 insurrection after the FBI initially raided a home 4,500 miles away in Alaska, looking for the computer.

The FBI on Friday arrested Maryann Mooney-Rondon, 55, and her son, Rafael Rondon, 23, of Watertown, New York, in connection with the stolen laptop, according to court documents. Both also face other charges related to the riot at the Capitol.

Rafael Rondon also faces possession of an unregistered sawed-off shotgun charge

Both appeared in federal court Friday in Syracuse, New York, and released pending further proceedings, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York.

A message left at a listing for Mooney-Condon in Watertown was not immediately returned Monday. Attempts to locate Rafael Rondon were not immediately successful.

The Capitol riot was well documented by those who took part. Law enforcement used photos from the social media accounts of those who took part to search for the suspects.

A tip to the FBI led them to the mother and son, according to a statement of facts documented by an unnamed FBI special agent.

Here's another insurrectionist getting ready for sentencing. The "poor" dear is shunned and castigated in her community. She's a hair salon owner who's lost business because of her actions on Jan. 6. She's sent a letter to the judge expressing remorse etc. Her lawyer says she's remorseful. This is what she said on social media after the insurrection.

Bissey also sent a handwritten letter to the court pleading for a more lenient sentence.

In the letter, seen by Insider, Bissey described herself as a "God-fearing, country-loving, law-abiding, hard-working Patriot" who attended several of former President Donald Trump's events "without incident."

"I am deeply saddened at the events that transpired on that day and very remorseful that I will forever be associated," she wrote in the letter.

Bissey's letter struck a different tone from what she was accused of saying on social media in the days after the insurrection.

In multiple posts and comments, Bissey and her friend, Anna Morgan-Lloyd, referred to January 6 as "the best ****ing day ever," according to a federal complaint.

One day after the insurrection, Bissey wrote on Facebook: "We are home. It was a day I'll remember forever, I'm proud to be a part of it," the complaint said.

Morgan-Lloyd also wrote that they were among "the first 50 people" in the building, according to the complaint.

Back in 2018, which is several lifetimes ago in the internet age, Wikileaks claimed that Amazon had 38 data centers in Northern Virginia alone.

House committee investigating January 6 can't find Trump aide to serve subpoena

More than a week after subpoenaing former Donald Trump aide Dan Scavino to cooperate with its investigation into the January 6 riot at the US Capitol, the House select committee investigating the attack has been unable to physically serve the subpoena to him, according to multiple sources familiar with the effort.

The news comes just days before the committee's deadline for Scavino and three other close allies of the former President to comply with subpoenas requesting documents by October 7 and a deposition by October 15.

Scavino, Trump's former White House deputy chief of staff, did not respond to CNN's request for comment. One source familiar with the situation joked that the committee should just tweet the subpoena to the former Trump aide since he's been actively trolling the panel there in recent days.

The other Trump aides who have been subpoenaed include former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, former adviser Steve Bannon and Kash Patel, a former chief of staff to then-acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller.

Patel has acknowledged he's received the committee's subpoena. It appears that the committee has been successful in their attempts to serve subpoenas to the other two Trump allies.

1. Still amazed at how the "Law and Order" party skirts law and order with no consequence. They'll do it successfully again. Why? Because...

2. The dems will prove impotent and maddeningly passive again.

3. Ultimate outcome here? Nothing will happen.

Attempts to cause violence to overturn an election.  Country-loving? Nope

Guilty of a crime.  Law-abiding? Nope

Loses her customer base because of her actions.  Hard-working?  Not really, not anymore.

The thing is ... it wasn't one day in January. From before Trump was inaugurated 4 years prior, many saw this coming. It's the GOP turning a blind eye to all the other **** including Charlottesville that is a bigger issue.

And the bulk of the GoP doesn't even condemn that one day in January.

So...if TFG has told them not to comply isn't that witness tampering?

But I'm sure you're well aware that Trump doesn't use e-mail and isn't literate, so can't write; therefore there is no documentary evidence of this and prosecutors wouldn't be able to prove anything, even if true.

Senate Judiciary Committee issues sweeping report detailing how Trump and a top DOJ lawyer attempted to overturn 2020 election

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday released a sweeping report about how former President Donald Trump and a top lawyer in the Justice Department attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Trump directly asked the Justice Department nine times to undermine the election result, and his chief of staff Mark Meadows broke administration policy by pressuring a Justice Department lawyer to investigate claims of election fraud, according to the report, which is based on witness interviews of top former Justice Department officials.

The Democratic-led committee also revealed that White House counsel Pat Cipollone threatened to quit in early January as Trump considered replacing then-acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen with Jeffrey Clark, a DOJ lawyer who supported election fraud conspiracies.

After the eight-month investigation, the findings highlight the relentlessness of Trump and some of his top advisers as they fixated on using the Justice Department to prop up false conspiracies of election fraud. The committee report, the most comprehensive account so far of Trump's efforts to overturn the election, described his conduct as an abuse of presidential power.

Soon after the release of the report Thursday morning, Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley's office issued a GOP version, which pushes back on the Democrats' findings and defends Trump, saying he "listened to his senior advisors and followed their advice and recommendations."

Yup. Same thing with Congress and the subpoenas most likely. The Dems will make whiny noises, threaten contempt, then eventually say the contempt charges would take too long to get through the court system and do nothing.
