We all knew this was how it was going to go once the smoke cleared.  The GOP at large is still who they were 4 years ago.  Sure, a handful of them are saying something different *now* but the majority of them are still looking at the 70 million who voted for Trump and are unwilling to ruffle their feathers short term and risk losing that gravy train for the 2022 election and beyond.

lol @ Lindsey talking about how Trump released a statement pledging a peaceful transfer of power and calling for unity.

In other news, a 4 time repeat offender rapist was released back out onto the streets after he "totally pinky swore" that he wouldn't do it again. He even added "totes!" when they asked him if he really promised and was super serious.

Yeah they're looking at those 70M but are missing the 80+M that may be even more now that voted against Trump.

It's really a pity that politicians only cares about the next election and everything in between is just fairy dust...

That's true, but it still is no guarantee that without Trump on the ballot, Dem voters will be motivated in the same way to turn out.  I mean Trump got more votes in the popular vote than anyone ever has before besides Biden.  I suppose 2022 and 2024 will be a test to see which base is more motivated to not have a turnout letdown post-2020 election?

It will be interesting to see the turns of events for GOP. But right now I don't see how the GOP can remain united. Some will have to look for a new shelter.

Dear GOP members

if you want to preach unity during a time of crisis, then you need to plan for that by generally being for unity during normal times. Or at least not being anti-unity.

otherwise you look like a phony.

psssst. You look like a phony right now.

Pence needs to give Trump a nice 25A blindside.

For almost 4 years the President has destroyed your political future.  Give him some payback.  Stand up for yourself.

The mob was trying to hang you.

What the hell GOP.... killing police officers is okay now?
