I doubt this would change anything, people would ask for a pardon before election day, and that's merely it. But something has to be done to prevent that, that's for sure. I've been a fan for a while of a law or CA along the lines of: Any action taken by the government, during the period between an election, and said election taking effect, can be revisited by the new body after taking office. If the newly-seated body chooses to re-vote on the matter, and the action fails to be re-approved, then said action is nullified. If a vote is required to re-approve the measure, it must achieve the same vote required for the original passage. Or maybe he's waiting to do it tomorrow so that either news of something he did overshadow's Biden's inauguration or gets glossed over because people are covering the inauguration instead of the pardons. CousinsCowgirl84 Posted January 20, 2021 Share Posted January 20, 2021 The pardoning yourself and your kids thing is dumb anyway. You have to admit you are guilty of a crime AND hope your self pardon holds up in court. If it doesn’t, the fact that you pardoned yourself would be evidence against you.
