JCB
Also, p.s., the country has been suffering the far right since Reagan. Yes, there are cycles of change and so on, but peep the Republican consensus prior to Reagan’s marriage with evangelicals. Different world, and that was before Gingrich and W and Trump.

That's why every state the Dems control is changing their election laws, to make it harder for Republicans to vote. Giving themselves the power to ignore elections. Go try and project somewhere else. 2

At age 79, President Biden is the oldest president in the history of the United States. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), the Speaker of the House, is 82. Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) is 83. Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) is 81. Pelosi has served in Congress since 1987; Hoyer since 1981 and Clyburn since 1993. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is 71; Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) is 81. Schumer and Durbin have both served in Congress for over 40 years. These leaders, to be sure, have had considerable success. President Biden, who campaigned in 2020 as a healer, has restored democratic norms, honesty, and integrity to the Executive Branch. His pandemic policies have helped reduce hospitalizations and deaths. In a hyper-partisan political climate, and with razor-thin majorities in the House and Senate, he has managed to get Congress to pass a $1.9 trillion COVID relief package and a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that helped produce substantial increases in economic growth and reductions in unemployment. Biden also deserves considerable credit for the robust NATO response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Probably depends on the metrics used to qualify American made, but cars.com 2022 rankings have Tesla and Honda with 4 cars each in the most American made top 10. Jeep and Lincoln have the other 2 cars. 2

88Comrade2000
Democrats’ 2024 chances start with primary reform- BY MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG Michael actually makes sense in his column. Since it's usually the early primaries that get the most attention from campaigns; the early primary calendar should focus on the swing/purple states that usually decide the general election. tshile
That seems odd to make such a bold claim. A - there’s no actual data for it B - most people I know have no idea what ranked choice voting even us C - much like our pollsters were inaccurate in understanding support for trump in 2016, I have no problem believing they cannot accurately understand what choice would be at this point. In fact I assume it would take them a few cycles to really get it right, after it’s become the norm.
China
They really need to get younger... Sen. Dianne Feinstein chides staffers as they race to prep her for stopgap government funding vote: 'I don't even know what that is' Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein grew frustrated with staffers trying to prep her for what's become a routine Senate vote on Thursday, blurting out "I don't even know what that is" after aides asked if she had questions about the latest stopgap funding bill. The internal discussion, which took place along a bank of elevators in the Senate basement and was loud enough for Insider to overhear, bubbled over into outrage as Feinstein struggled to get her bearings before the midafternoon vote. As they escorted her from the Senate subway to the elevators that whisk lawmakers to within steps of the chamber on the second floor, Feinstein's aides tried to explain the pending issue to the 89-year-old California Democrat. "This is a vote on the continuing resolution. Do you have any questions about it?" a male staffer said right before Feinstein snapped at him. She then fished a slip of paper from her purse before stepping into an elevator with her handlers. This fits the pattern of kid-glove treatment Feinstein's been getting as her cognition and judgment increasingly come into question after three decades on Capitol Hill.
