Looking for unbiased predictions: Giants @ Eagles....

OK Tom ... you asked for it. smile.gif

I think the Eagles are a little better than the Giants right now. Not much, but a little. I think they are hungrier and they feel this is their year to take the division. That confidence may be the biggest difference this weekend. The Giants seemed to be playing better earlier in the year when they met so I wouldn't use that game as a measure.

For the record, I'll be pulling for the Giants with all my might. Can't stand those Eagles, man. Good luck.

well I'm biased also. I don't think much of your QB. And yes, I'd take him over banks any day.

I will be rooting for the giants but I see the eagles pulling it out; like I said I don't care for Collins and I think the eagles pressure forces collins into a costly mistake or two.

Giants 13

Eagles 20

Have to echo what the majority of the others said.......rooting for the Giants, but picking the Eagles to win the game and the division. Don't know whether this has been brought up yet, but there'll likely be a rematch in the wild-card round of last year's playoff game between the Eagles and Bucs, and would also be at the Vet. Will be interesting to see if the Bucs let the cold weather get to them again. Curiously enough, the two teams also play in the regular season finale in Tampa.

Tom, this is probably the last place you'd find an unbiased opinion on an NFC East game. smile.gif

Despite my suspicions that a lot of Eagle fans are predicting a blowout, it'll be the usual NFC East slugfest. I'd like to see the Giants throw a scare into the Eagles for the divisional title, but I'm guessing the Eagles will pull out a 17-14 win. But I'll be rooting for the G-Men.

close game, Eagles will win because the Giants playmakers on offense have not been up to last year's standards and too much pressure is being put on the defense.

Collins and Barber are a notch below where they were at this time last season.

Some of this has to do with the aging of the offensive line where Lomas Brown and Glenn Parker are coming back down to earth after surprise seasons in 2000 when they were written off by their old teams before the G-Men picked them up.

This is not a year where you will see an East team in the Super Bowl. It is a down year for everyone except the Eagles and they have shown that they are overmatched against the better teams in the NFC and AFC.

I won't make a prediction because there is no way I'd go against the Giants. I'll keep my biased opinion out of it.

Tom, I hope the Giants beat the Eagles to pieces and will be rooting for them to do so.

Unfortunately, I believe this may be the Iglets year and so predict a close, hard fought victory for them.

I hope I'm wrong! Good Luck!

Tailgate brings up a good point. I also think the Eagles are the better team, but the Giants seem to play well against them. For that reason, I think the Giants will take this one. Still, I expect the Eagles will beat Tampa next week to clinch the division.

For what it's worth I'll be pulling for the Giants the rest of the way.

I think the Eagles will win...not big but still win. Then get bounced early in the playoffs to draft another WR next year.

The Eagles have some other needs as well. Duce Staley doesn't get yardage against the better defenses on the ground and while part of it may be him, some of the rest can be attributed to an underwhelming interior line at center and the two guard spots. They need help inside.

The Eagles also need some more size on their defensive line. Douglas and Co. have put good pressure on the qb's this season but have given up some rushing yardage as well.

The other blind spot is the fact the team really doesn't have a true backup for McNabb or Staley.

I don't think Burkhalter is the long-term answer at running back with Staley at 29 years of age.

I predict that the Philthy fans will puke on each other, spit on little kids, cheer a career ending injury, boo Santa claus and make complete asses out of themselves.

Oh, and for the game 24-9 Giants

I will be donning a Giants hat this weekend for sure.
