Has your team support wained due to ownership or can you see past it?

  1. 1. Will you attend a game and support the team while Dan Snyder is the owner of the team, regardless of success?

    • Yes
    • No
    • I would start attending games if Dan was no longer the owner of the team.

To be clear and specific, Washington HC Ron Rivera has Squamous cell cancer of his neck. He was diagnosed with it two weeks ago. He told his team
about it tonight. He plans to go on coaching this season, but has set up backup plans as well.

Definitely. It is more concerning that it has entered his Lymph nodes, though

The spokesman confirmed Thursday night that Rivera has squamous cell carcinoma. ESPN first reported Rivera’s diagnosis, saying it was lymph node cancer and later clarified it was squamous cell carcinoma in his neck.

Michael MacCambridge spent five years writing his 2005 history of the N.F.L., visiting team after team around the country. From the stability of the Pittsburgh Steelers to the emerging dynasty in New England, he learned that great franchises thrived and overcame obstacles with a mix of talent, trust and patience.

And then there is the Washington Football Team.

MacCambridge said that rarely in his travels did he see a team confronting as many problems as Washington is now. Like many N.F.L. team owners, Daniel Snyder has faced his share of losing on the field and scandals in the front office during his 21-year stewardship of the club. Some problems were the result of bad luck. Others were self-inflicted.

Snyder, though, is now juggling calamities on several fronts. In just the past few months, he ditched the team’s 87-year-old name and logo after a revolt by sponsors, hired a law firm to investigate reports of sexual harassment in the front office and began a legal battle that has implicated a limited partner who is trying to sell his shares in the franchise. Most recently, the head coach he hired to revive the team said he would lead while undergoing cancer treatment.

“The Washington Football Team is like Charlie Brown trying to fly his kite and getting it caught in the tree,” said MacCambridge, the author of “America’s Game: The Epic Story of How Pro Football Captured a Nation.” “There have been teams that were historically bad. The frustration that the fans in Washington are experiencing is that they’ve been waiting an awful long time to get a sense that their club has a positive sense of direction, and they’re still waiting.”

So this is real...

A major criticism of Snyder is that he hides, part of a re-culturing if it is to include Snyder as the owner will include his availability for transparency's sake.  It is still surprising though.

Part of the problem too, though, is when he does speak, its diarrhea of the mouth...so this will be interesting. Although his account is protected...so, we'll see.

Hopefully someone from the team is vetting what is going out over that account.

In theory the point below is true, though somehow the best laid plans tend to go sideways with Dan at the helm.  If I had to cling to some optimism this time it's that Dan doesn't have a buffer in the mix who is arguably incompetent and not the classiest dude.  No Vinny.  No Bruce.

Jason Wright and Rivera and Kyle Smith all seem to be brimming with class and competence.  And that's a first time thing I think for Dan aside from perhaps the 1 year when Marty was in charge.

Is that Snyder account legit? Oh boy....this can’t end good. I can only imagine the **** he’ll tweet😂

Don't worry, Jack Del Rio is running his account.

Its amazing we're more valuable than the Eagles and they are fresh off a Superbowl, have a fairly new stadium and a franchise QB.

So much upside with this team.

You know what they say: location, location, location. We may be a smaller market, but we are far, far weathier. Philly is a ****hole that makes Baltimore look nice.

We are in the midst of a year long name change that should keep us in the news. We just acquired a new player that is expected to be a superstar. A little further down the line we have a new stadium in the wings. That organizational value should spike a bit moving forward.

I would pretty much expect Wash to rise up that list in the coming years. Like any zombie, I do enjoy a good COMEBACK story. (Zombie Pun)
