The man on man porn you watch usually has a crowd?

What are all the advantages or differences in a no-crowd NFL game ?

- Fewer false starts, especially for the Away team

- Possibly more accuracy on Field Goals

- No selfies with fans, by the QB, and missing out on plays as a result

Jeez, the selfie **** again? He “missed out” on a meaningless play, one that had zero effect on the outcome of the game.

This article presents a disturbing possibility

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/05/16/games-without-fans-will-impact-point-spreads-obviously/

"Unless, of course, the NFL allows teams in empty stadiums to use artificial crowd noise to avoid a competitive disadvantage if some stadiums are open, and if others aren’t. "

They're looking at the possibility of some stadiums staying open and some not, and pumping the noise directly into the stadiums who don't have a crowd ?

So many things wrong here. How do you balance it, if some stadiums open later in the year, and not for the full year.

But probably most importantly, who gets to decide (and how), the level of noise they are allowed to pump directly into an empty stadium ?

That could easily be an overwhelmingly unfair advantage.

Just don't allow some stadiums to open while others are still closed. Don't open any of them, until they're all ready to open, and do it at the same time.

Are we still gonna have 50% opposing team fans even if they're digital? It would be realistic...

50%? You being generous.

I hate this idea.  Some local broadcasts probably can't handle this and we'll see if we don't have fans we really will have a contrast. Redskins preseason barely gets folks name right, they should digitize the announcers instead.

My concern is if this goes well the question will ask if fans in stadium is necessary. Most of the revenue is from TV anyway.

Bet this, they cancel the season there will be Madden simulation games for the season instead.  If it draws millions, it's gonna raise questions.

"Oh, looks like that crowd noise really having an affect on the offense..."

"Man, they have really done a good job calming down that crowd noise early in this game.*

"Calmed it down" better then COVID did? Really, Joe?

Sometimes I forget Fox Sports is owned by same company that owns Fox News, this plan was probably in the works when it was still a hoax (just in case). They not gonna talk about COVID during the game?

"Couple players out today for unspecified illnesses, but crowd still showed up to support them. Round of applause for folks not coming out the tent for some reason."

Dortmund has an interesting approach to the fan issue.

That is not Dortmund though and it is also not Schalke 04 as it says in the top right corner of the video. It's the other Borussia, the one from Mönchengladbach.

Nevertheless it is an interesting approach. We will see on the weekend how that will look on TV because their first game was an away game.

3. Spam is strictly prohibited.
The following are some examples of what ES considers spam:

  • Very short posts that do not add value to the topic.
Example: posts with only the words, "I dunno," or "lol cool," or "in before close" or a quote of a post with only "smileys" added, or simply the word "this" and an upward arrow or "x2" added. If that is the only contribution you have to make to the discussion, this is not the place for you.

You've already been kicked out of the Tailgate. Don't get yourself kicked off the entire board.

hey the skins might actually have a home field advantage again!

Was gonna say the same exact thing. There will be no team in the NFL that benefits more from not having fans in the stands than the Skins.

Hell yeah I enjoyed a beating of our biggest rivals. But that sterile atomsphere was super strange for probably the most heated game in Germany and one of the biggest rivalry games in the world.

Also I am not too sure how much to take from it. Schalke was shockingly poor and even though we have won every game except for one in the second half of the season I could easily see as laying an egg next week.

In Germany a discussion is going on about how no fans in the stadium benefits the better team. Communication is easier and obviously some places live off of their fans' energy. I think there is definitely some truth to it and it will be interesting to see over the remainder of the season. But it's somethin that would probably be even more prominent in the NFL. Maybe you can even hear what the opposing team is saying in the huddle?

It's just not going to be the same.

I cannot accept an NFL, like this.

I mean, how can you possibly replicate this ?

The guy running shirtless and getting high fives on the kickoff had me rolling.  OMG.  So funny! :rofl89:

1) Should be no problem to have fans in the stands by September

2) If its not, this idea is going to end up being super awkward and distracting and people will just ask that they stop doing it after a few games

1. There’s no way there will be fans in stadiums in September.

2. it depends on how they do it and how well they pull it off. Imagine Seinfeld without the laugh track.
