Yeah I was going to say I associate Gandy-Golden with @volsmet .  I am cool with the pick.

100%. Upon first watch of him I was lukewarm. Quality but not amazed.

Last few weeks, because of vols, I watched him more and loved him.

Good hit, vols.

We seem to be only scouting within about 150 miles of DC, all local guys.  I definitely thought that if we took a WR it should be a big guy who can be a compliment to Terry, and help in the redzone.

I think the Robert Davis comparison is not a bad one.

No offense but I think Robert Davis is a terrible comparison. RD was a height, strength blazing 40 time guy who we hoped would learn NFL reciever skills. Gandy is a football player first and foremost, if he is doctson but not weird and hurt all the time that would be a great floor for him. Hopefully a high ceiling.

This draft is screaming two things to me 1) They have their own board and they believe in it and 2) they are going strictly BPA based off their board. Nobody said we were winning the SB next year

Having Gandy-Golden, Antonio Gibson and Terry McLaurin can be a nice 3 wideout set.

Having time to get the ball to them would be better.

Agreed

also. This draft is making it VERY clear about the type of offense we will run.
- quick OL

- Strong WRs that block (Terry, Harmon, Golden)

- “Weapons” that can play make (Sims, Love, Guice, Gibson)

I think it’s becoming clear. sweeps, Screens, etc. with blockers on the outside. Makes Haskins job much easier.
Seriously, Guice & Gibson with Harmon, Golden, and Terry is an interesting group that allows the OC to run a ton of different options with that look without giving it away. Gone are the Reed and AP days of knowing what we’re going to run.

He could be our Niles Paul.  Oh wait.   But either way Gandy-Golden is fun to say!

He is a much better receiver that Niles was coming out.

Put him on that Haskins 2019 off-season training and diet regimen.

I hear its a lot of bamboo shoots and legumes.

This guy is an absolute monster when it comes to 50/50 grabs. He's huge and catches everything thrown his way.

Not very fast and could improve his route running.
