AG had a Grade 1 Turf Toe injury almost 2 weeks ago.  He was DNP for practice but they tested him.  He'll have a follow-up 24 hrs later that might include an MRI to assess the degree of inflammation and an assessment of his pain response from a recorded range of motion.  If the assessment reveals no increase in pain or inflammation then they'll bump him up a notch for Sunday. 

This is a good sign that they didn't shut him down.  I'd speculate he's a game time decision at this point.  We don't get to see his MRI so we have to guess. It depends on how deep the tear is into the tissue.  If it was worse than a Grade 1 he would have been seen in a boot for a full 10-14 days.  The fact he's tested it after 10 days without being in a boot and is back out the next day is huge!  If I'm Seattle I'm game planning for both AG and McKissic being on the field.  The Physical Therapist would use this type of brace to limit his range of motion and they'd try and get him comfortable wearing it.  Then, Sunday they could gauge his ability to be effective and grade his pain threshold.  It is possible to make him pain free, but most athletes don't consent for cortisone because of the risk.  Rather if they try to play they'll take inflammation meds and wear a brace so they stop short of a more severe injury.  They would have already shut him down if he had no intention to play.

Man as long as he is really healthy, and I am certain they would not play him otherwise, wr have really missed him. He changes coverages and instills the fear of him taking it to the house. 

 

My favorite thing about him, beyond his hands in the pass game, is that while every defender on the field is concerned he could go for 40 yards each time he touches the ball they have to deal with his physical running style. 

 

Antonio Gibson is not the most fun guy to tackle, that is if you even get a chance to try.

Did I ever tell you guys about the time during my sophomore year of high school when my friend asked me what the capital of China was, I said “Beijing”, then he yelled “BANGKOK!!” and punched me in the dick? It was an extremely frustrating and confusing experience.

There's a lot chickity China Chinese people that come here.  Locals don't like them in general.

I thought the last few games he was turning into the offenses most important and best player. In my view, he’s the key to this years team being dynamic at times. And critical to Smiths success: 

 

Recently I gave thought to QBs being better than others on certain downs. I wonder if certain QBs are better than others on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd downs. My hypothesis is that Smith is a great (Maybe even elite) first down QB, but requires a multi talented RB, which Gibson was becoming, especially early in downs due to his unique power and catching ability (just started to scratch the potential of him catching). Smith had Frank Gore in SF, Jamaal Charles in KC, and now Gibson in Washington— all guys who do it all well. Obviously, Gibson has a long ways to go to be those guys, but the talent and production are there. 
 

So, all that to say, Gibson is the key to making a SB run ;)

I have a friend that moved to Hong Kong when I moved to the Virgin Islands. He's in Thailand now and loves it. He's in a punk band, opening a new brewery. Sounds pretty awesome.

In a dream scenario we sit Gibson one more week and win anyway, thus allowing us to sit him again next week(a win should clinch the division)and giving him four full weeks to get healthy. But in reality we gotta go all in to win and aren't in a position to screw around like that.

Peterson doesn't fit this offense. McKissic has actually been pretty good, probably one of the better #2 RBs in the league especially with his ability to catch out of the backfield.

 

People are still too stuck up on AP and I'm not sure why. He hasn't exactly done much in Detroit.

I'm thinking of AP, as at least a backup plan, or someone to share the carries with. I'm not talking abourt AP being "The Answer"

Again, looking back, wouldn't it have wise to have a backup plan if Gibson did get hurt ?

That just seems fundamental. It's not as if it's rare or unheard of, that your starting RB gets hurt for an extended period

In other words, in the current scenario, wouldn't you rather have AP filling in for a hurt Gibson, than McKissic ?

Then McKissic can stick to what he does best on 3rd down.

Yes, I know it's purely retrospect, but I prefaced the original post with that Disclaimer, anyhow

Long term, Rivera has decided to go with younger guys unless there was it only necessary for a vet to fill and no other potential young player.

 

I think maybe, in short term, perhaps that AP would have been better but long term... i guess we will need to find out.

oh yeah I was wrong, but honestly I still think a healthy Love or Guice are better RBs, Gibson definitely a better pass catch. Guice ruined his career, Love well I feel bad because it just seems his leg will never be the same. He got close to the Lattimore energy.

 

But I'm happy be wrong about Gibson
