The "Re-Opening" the Economy Thread

Recommended Posts

Two hairstylists potentially exposed 140 customers to COVID-19 at a Great Clips in Missouri, according to alerts from a local health department

Well, good news is, they were supposedly wearing masks, and so were the customers.

Bad news?

1)  If I read the article correctly, at least one was working while symptomatic.

2)  We're talking 140 possible exposures, and that was just in 9 days.

3)  And their state is going to just chalk this up as "**** happens", and go ahead with relaxing infection control more.

Jeez!  My hairdresser has a back porch (of sorts). I picked up what I needed & sent her a check. Can people not figure this out?

(My eyebrows are an issue, however

...good lordy...)

Wanna bet that the anti-Costo crowd absolutely support the right of private businesses to, y'know, not bake cakes for Teh Gayz?

The Wal-Mart I went to yesterday was full of maskless people, I'd say about 60-70%. I was wearing mine and got some looks, nobody said anything and neither did I. At least I got enough stuff to last a couple of months.

I'm sure I will feel better going to Costco later this week.

Keep doing the right thing, no matter what other people do.  I've been to Costco a couple times and everyone seems to follow the mask rule there.  It'll definitely be better at Costco.  I went to the grocery store today and there were probably about 80 or so customers in it, and I'd say about 90% were wearing masks even though they don't have a rule about it.  Some places are handling the new normal surprisingly well and it's encouraging.

It's 8am...ive been up for four hours already.

Worked out, cleaned the living room, and now folding breakfast burritos for the week while checking emails.

Take your time, please, so we can get on same page what essential worker actually means instead of rushing back to land before time like that was really best way to do it in 2020.

A hair salon has reopened its doors but says workers from the local poultry plant can't get haircuts because of the coronavirus.

Well, they're probably right.

I went to a park in Fairfax yesterday and I will say people did a good job social distancing.
