The Quarantine Thread

Listening to wife take and make phone calls as a help desk manager, now she's asking for review based on my facial expressions.

I know some folks have already told me they planning to watch Netflix and keep pressing the spacebar.  Nope, we gonna try to prove we don't need to come back in the office again, golden opportunity here if you lucky enough to have it, ****in take it.

I managed proposals internationally from a single office location (Lucent Technologies in Coral Gables FL), and from my home nationally for years. It's possible. Some line managers with control issues want to see butts in seats or they think work isn't getting done. It's very apparent if work isn't getting done. Some people can't work remotely or like to be around people. For those of us who are self motivated and need little over the shoulder supervision, working from home makes us more productive.

if you've never done it, now might be a time to dip your toe into pbs radio

i have yet to get around to doing any podcast stuff---a whole world of its own---partly becuase i still find internet and local am and fm is quite the treasure trove

while typing this a site popped into my mind:

https://radioparadise.com/home

it's an algorithm and people driven dj'ed site....they choose some great tunes every day though they limit the genres

if you look at the bottom of your screen at the link, below the pic of two people on the left, you'll see settings icons

the gear wheel one allows you to listen at different quality levels including the flac  format (high-quality) and it's free

(a lot of sites--like amazon or google/youtube---charge for a flac level of fidelity)

Not exactly my reasons for increased productivity away from the office. In my case, I have two Chatty Cathys that sit nearby plus all the other typical office distractions. That's horrible if, like me, you have ADD. It usually takes me a good 30 mins to get back on task and then invariably that's the exact moment that someone else will come by to say hello or ask for help on something. Wash, rinse, repeat. I'm actually a people person (sorta) so I like the interaction...to a point.

i won't name names but there are a few famous redskins fans on twitter that most of us know who is spewing alot of bull**** like this hoax is fake, blaming democrats working with china to develop this virus and the national guard is posting up in baltimore (when it fact it was the image of them coming down to fedex)

Why not name names?  Twitter is a public forum, it's not like you are keeping their secret.

Portland strip club forced to close, so dancers now do delivery

Quote

Portland finds a way. Close down her strip clubs, and dancers will do delivery.

That’s what’s happening at the Lucky Devil Lounge at 633 S.E. Powell Blvd. The club was forced to close with Gov. Kate Brown’s mandate to stem the spread of coronavirus, but the order does allow food establishments to offer take-out or delivery.

And thus was born club owner Shon Boulden’s newest business: Boober Eats.

The home delivery service, in which a pair of scantily clad strippers will deliver hot food to your door, started as a joke Boulden posted on social media. When people began seriously inquiring about orders, Boulden saw potential.

So, while the rest of Portland was hoarding toilet paper and pasta, he bought out one local store’s stock of pasties.

From 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., Boober Eats is offering the full menu from the Lucky Devil Lounge at the same prices. Delivery rates are generally $30, but vary depending on distance from the lounge.

“If someone wants to give us a couple hundred bucks to go to the coast, we’ll do it as long as the girls are taken care of,” Boulden said.

Popular orders include chicken fingers, steak bites and mini corndogs.

“All the calls, people are just giddy and fun,” Boulden said. “Sometimes it’s a surprise for someone, sometimes it’s a birthday, sometimes it’s people that are really stoned.”

All dancers are driven and escorted by a security guard. And there’s at least one rule that carries over from the strip club to a pandemic – no touching the dancers.

Boober Eats!, Hur.

Dark Phoenix is some trash.

So is Rise of Skywalker, it felt more like a Harry Potter movie. I love Harry Potter, but if I want to see that I'll watch those movies.
