jay has been spotted playing cards a few times at the Hollywood casino in Charles town wv. According to the dealers there his wife likes to play the slots so he spends a bunch of time at the card tables. My friend has seen him there 2x since he was fired.. he chatted up the dealer a bit and the guy confirmed he's there from time to time.

One of my friends actually bartends at that casino & he said numerous times Gruden would be in there getting lit and this was during the season.

Morton's, the Hotel California of restaurants. I noticed Jay Gruden has been quiet for months now, maybe he's still on the all-you-can-eat buffet with Eddie Royal?

I saw Eddie there last weekend, actually.  He claims he was stiffed on the check.

Judging by his schemes all year, don’t expect Mansuck to make the right decision.

Judging by the talent and how crap Mansuck is, I expect no less than 175 sacks next year with or without Chase.

We need more 3 man rushes on 3rd down; and I dont think Sweat played in coverage enough

I’m befuddled as to why Mansucky hasn’t been relieved of his duties.

His contract expired. He doesn’t need to be fired.

Dan doesn't need to fire any coaches, the new Head Coach will take care of that.  I am certain that Ron Rivera will insist on control of his own staff.  Dan just needs to clean house amongst the folks that worked for Bruce.  Understanding this is still Dan, I am a bit optimistic that he is taking these changes on personally.  Firing, however warranted, is very personal and not always easy.

The important question remaining is whose job is it going to be to replace all these guys?  Does he have a GM in mind but is just waiting to get buy in from the new coach?  Is his new secret committee going to handle the hiring.

While purging is long overdue; we need to replace smartly.

Overall, this is a good day.

...There are indications Snyder has changed, but sources who have worked for him anticipate he will still be involved.

One source said Snyder's input often came through "backdoor ways," funneled through others in charge, such as Allen. It wasn't just about drafting Haskins -- the Redskins knew they had to take a quarterback. It was about making decisions on which free agents to pay and who the team would let leave.

"Critical decisions," the source said.

In fairness to him and he needs to find the right balance, he was exiled or lied to about what was really going on in the building, around the org, etc. by Bruce Allen.  We'll have to wait and see how this all shakes out but hopefully he can just be that support or what do you need owner like he was with Gibbs 2.0.  🙂

Listening to NFL network, and they said the common fan may not know this but Ron said there is alot of talent on the roster, and he went on to say Scott assembled alot of talent....this is the NFL network...holy crap...makes it hard to believe they know anything when you say that.

And this is why Allen was not a poison to the organization all on his own.  He did not act from his own volition. He did Danny's bidding many times because he was a very good lackey. Dan has been making "critical decisions" since he purchased the team.  This has always been my main point regarding their relationship.

Hopefully the supposed little "private secret committee" he put together informed him it would be helpful for any possible future success for him to stay out of the football side.  If he does not then it is true what a few posters are saying in terms of the deck chairs simply being rearranged on the Titanic.

What will give me hope is if Rivera signs on as the HC because he is not going to put up with that interfering bull ****.  Danny might in part save himself from himself with this hire. LOL!

Does this mean Rivera will get GM duties ?

Because I kind of expected a new GM to be named, before a new coach.

Most of your GM contracts run through the end of the Draft. So the ones still employed are most likely going to be that way for about 5-6 more months.

During the round table on NFL Network Aftermath that included Mike Silver, he said he got 2 thumbs up about how their meeting was going right now.

Counting the minutes until Rivera is announced, or are we still counting chickens?

If Callahan is not fired maybe he is staying on board as our OL coach.  I sure hope not.

Any guesses to where Callahan ends up ?
I remember last offseason the rumor was he'd join his son in Cincy.
I'm guessing that's his destiny.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's offered a chance to remain.  He hasn't exactly burned any bridges here...

To remain, it seems like you gotta give him one of those previously non-existent, fancy, token titles, like "Senior Offensive Analyst" with a hefty contract.

To go back to OL coach, you'd have to fire the guy that replaced him, and it doesn't seem like he'll be the next HC, and I don't see him taking much of a demotion.

I didn’t.  I expected the coach to come first .  I expected the coach to have the ultimate power, and select a GM to work with them.

Because I always thought Dan was going to go after the best coach he could get as fast as possible.  And that precluded getting s GM first and in order to get the best coach, Dan was going to have to pay a lot and give control.

From Julie Donaldson’s reporting last night, they will likely role with the current scouting department through the draft and then there might be additional changes.

Unless Ron wants a guy who’s currently out of work.

Man, there are so many people drinking the kool aid in here.  Seems like everyone is excited about the Redskins again.  Ron Rivera, may or may not take a job here.  Dan Snyder is taking control of his ship.

I mean, nothing’s really changed as far as I’m concerned.  We are still the same 3-13 team that we were yesterday, just with some new potential deck chairs on the Titanic.

Ron Rivera, to me, feels like the Alex Smith of coaches.  He’s the guy you bring in because the the best of what’s left.  Things haven’t been working out so you bring in a guy who has done good things, just not consistently and not consistently enough for his old team.

But everyone seems happy.  I don’t get it guys.  What is there to be happy about?  Change just for the sake of change?

While some of this is fair there ARE some major differences this time. He is axing people that have been with him for decades number one. Secondly. This isnt Zorn or Spurrier we are talking about here. Rivera is a great MAN first. And a hell of a football coach second. He is a major culture shift walking into that building. Number three for me is the makeup of the team itself. Yes. We only won 3 games this year. But this team is way more talented than a 3 win team. And it is YOUNG. The old rebuilds were done with teams made up of overpriced veterans who were looking for their last big payday. This roster is not horrid. We need some pieces especially in the secondary and OL. But this is not a 3-13 roster talent wise.

As long as KOC has complete autonomy to run and scheme the offense however he wants.

I think Callahan leaves with a big thank you from Dan and Ron.

No way do you bring back Callahan. He’s done. I like Callahan more than most, but wouldn’t make sense on any level.

New voice and vision must takeover.

Surprised we didn't play him at CB when Dunbar went down.
