I don’t get it, we hired a coach without firing a gm or hiring a gm?!?

Most of your GM contracts run through the end of the Draft. So the ones still employed are most likely going to be that way for about 5-6 more months.

They're just assuming he'll resign in shame.... save them the trouble :)

Judging by his schemes all year, don’t expect Mansuck to make the right decision.

I'm very interested to see what a new defensive scheme can do for the players already on this defense. Especially the D Line, specifically Kerrigan and Sweat on the edge.

Judging by the talent and how crap Mansuck is, I expect no less than 175 sacks next year with or without Chase.

I agree with you, there's no way it would even be attempted. For ****s and giggles this is how I think Rivera would react to it.

Rivera: "What the **** do you think you're ****ing doing?! Have some ****ing professionalism, you're on the bench until you pull your head out of your ass".

Then I hope he would stop practice and explain to everyone that's not how a professional acts at his job. Then he says, If it happens again, I'll put your ass on the injury report for diarrhea.

This all after he tackles the person to the ground and breaks their ribs.

Just because things can often go this way...

Below is the list of Panthers set to become free agents (the new league year begins March 18, 2020):

Ive seen a few comments about it and it needs to be restated.

This feels different then the past changes.

The fact that its dan himself **** canning everyone, to the fact that hes done his research with a group of people from outside the organization, to getting a coach that is respected and expected to change the CULTURE.

It has a feeling of dan being pissed.

Man, there are so many people drinking the kool aid in here.  Seems like everyone is excited about the Redskins again.  Ron Rivera, may or may not take a job here.  Dan Snyder is taking control of his ship.

I mean, nothing’s really changed as far as I’m concerned.  We are still the same 3-13 team that we were yesterday, just with some new potential deck chairs on the Titanic.

Ron Rivera, to me, feels like the Alex Smith of coaches.  He’s the guy you bring in because the the best of what’s left.  Things haven’t been working out so you bring in a guy who has done good things, just not consistently and not consistently enough for his old team.

But everyone seems happy.  I don’t get it guys.  What is there to be happy about?  Change just for the sake of change?

Norman is on a huge contract. If he's cut due to bashing the organisation publically, I'm pretty sure he loses that. Ain't nobody else paying him big money considering he's played like a scrub. What a martyr though, not having a tantrum for $16million per year. Sounds like a real tough gig.

Not at all in favour of orchestrating. We always hear what a short career window players have blah blah balh and I just think there's acceptable risk, and then there is choosing to jump over a ****ing bull. If you don't see a difference between driving a car and jumping over a bull, I don't know what to say. If he wants to do it so bad, do it 5 years down the line when he's retired. This year 13 people were gored by bulls during the "risk-free" bull run Josh participated in. Plus hundreds of injuries that were not related to gorings, but people getting trampled in the crush. Plus the fact the bull run is horrifically abusive to the animals - I'm from the UK and we don't really do hunting etc like you guys, so our views on animal rights tend to be slightly different to y'all, but its hard for anyone to justify participating in an event that comes from getting bulls angry by stabbing the **** out of them, so people can run away from them.

But yeah, dude is a stand up guy, playing like ****, pocketing 16mill a year to do it, and not throwing a tantrum (which would jeopardise his 16mill).

If you think Norman is precluded from calling out Manusky due to a contractual concern about his money you'd be wildly incorrect.   He was actually more at risk of his contract had the bull hit him than by calling a dumb coach a dumb coach.   We'll simply disagree.   I've appreciated Norman hasn't made the Normal situation about him.   He's quietly finished out his season and probably his time here.   I'm CERTAIN we'll hear from him in the near future.   But getting to here was the right way to handle business.   And it's appreciated.   Even if his level of play was not :).

Actually I think it is the first time the actual gravity of the situation has sunk in. He is losing a ton of $$$.  Fans are boycotting the **** stadium, not purchasing merchandise, and he has been an epic fail doing it his way for 10 years.   So the "committee" advising him probably told him what he had to do immediately to start cleaning it up.  Then he has to stay the hell out of it.  Or he just reverts back to the same ol' Dan with the same ****ty results.

Morton's, the Hotel California of restaurants. I noticed Jay Gruden has been quiet for months now, maybe he's still on the all-you-can-eat buffet with Eddie Royal?

jay has been spotted playing cards a few times at the Hollywood casino in Charles town wv. According to the dealers there his wife likes to play the slots so he spends a bunch of time at the card tables. My friend has seen him there 2x since he was fired.. he chatted up the dealer a bit and the guy confirmed he's there from time to time.

Oh you sweet summer child.

Let's count all the times Dan has learned from his past mistakes.

Hiring Marty.

Hiring Gibbs.

Hiring Shanahan.

Hiring Bruce.

Hiring McDrunkypants

Hiring the PR guy he fired.

...There are indications Snyder has changed, but sources who have worked for him anticipate he will still be involved.

One source said Snyder's input often came through "backdoor ways," funneled through others in charge, such as Allen. It wasn't just about drafting Haskins -- the Redskins knew they had to take a quarterback. It was about making decisions on which free agents to pay and who the team would let leave.

"Critical decisions," the source said.

It has also been Snyder's desire to return to a 4-3 base defense after using a 3-4 for the past decade. Rivera's base has been a 4-3, so that won't be an issue. But the new leadership will need to make personnel additions to make it work.

Numerous sources say Snyder would stay away from roster decisions more than in the past -- he was on his personal yacht for most of the month before the 2019 draft. But Snyder still made it known he wanted Haskins.

Rivera is expected to have more roster control than Gruden, something similar to what Shanahan had during his four seasons. That could help. It also could help to have more cohesion between the front office and coaching staff because it would lessen the divisions and leaks. That's why it would make sense for Rivera to be paired with someone he has worked with in the past, such as Marty Hurney, who is currently the general manager of the Panthers. Hurney got his start in the Washington market as a Redskins beat writer for the Washington Times, and also worked for Redskins public relations for two years.

...Regardless of who gets the job, they need to be in sync with Rivera and learn how to massage Snyder's football desires. One source said framing ideas to make it appear as if it was Snyder's to begin with is the best approach. If Rivera and his boss can do that, perhaps they can do what others here failed at for two decades under Snyder: Put together a consistent winner.
