BCS:BraveCaringSoul
I've gone out on a limb for my boy Sage. yeah I know it's just the first mini-camp and he hasn't even taken a good lick under center but I got a hunch. When BCS gets hunches good things tend to happen.

My sig tells it all. Check the Sportsline article under SAGE. Or read the quote of FLUFFY Jones one of the finest and most respected scouts in Cowboys history. Look at SAGE'S pic-- How could you doubt an Opie face like that?

Now it's time to see where everybody stands. NO SITTING ON THE FENCES!!

I CHALLENGE ALL MEMBERS OF THE BOARD INCLUDING ADMINISTRATORS TO POST HERE AND GIVE EITHER A YAY OR NAY AS TO WHETHER SAGE WILL BE OUR SAVIOR!!

In 6 months I'm gonna come back to this topic and call out the names of those who stood with me and THE RED HEADED WONDERBOY: SAGE ROSENFELS!!!

Let's roll!

[ March 30, 2002, 01:35 PM: Message edited by: BallCoachSpurrier ]

Jimbo
He didn't show me much under Marty but last pre-season and the first five games of the regular season weren't indicative of ANYTHING. One mini-camp does not a QB make. Could he be the next Tom Brady or Kurt Warner? Heck, he could take Warner's old job of bagging groceries at Krogers for all we know.

Since you're out on a limb, I won't saw it off just yet but I'll save judgement until I see what he does in the Japan Bowl. The fact that he didn't play at Florida in already one strike against him. He may have to hit a 0-2 slider out of the park for Spurrier to actually start him. Here's hoping he does.

[ March 29, 2002, 04:22 PM: Message edited by: Jimbo ]

bulldog
Harrington? let's face it, whoever he goes to he is going to sit on the bench for the 2002 season holding a clipboard just like Michael Vick did last season.

drafting Harrington and not addressing the DL/OL/WR needs of the team is the surest way to guarantee a sub .500 finish in 2002.

and frankly (to borrow one of Marty's favorite phrases) with season tickets costing what they do, I don't want to completely flush the 2002 season down the toilet just yet.

Art
I'm torn on Sage. I thought he was a wasted pick when we made it because there were better players at more needy spots than QB and especially THIS QB. As he got some playing time, it was clear that he was atrocious and not ready for the NFL, but, neither was Husak and we cut him because what Sage had that Husak didn't was some creativity.

Sage seemed to have a nice feel for making plays when things were breaking down around him. He seemed to do his best under adversity. This tells me he was having trouble digesting the structured offense Marty was teaching, but that when he had to stop thinking and just start playing, he might have a little something.

Still, BCS, I can't commit on Sage one way or the other at this point. If we get Matthews and draft a QB in April, we all know Sage is gone no matter how good he becomes. I like his physicals and I think given time with Spurrier, he could be a solid candidate for us. I'll be rooting for him, but, to be honest, I don't think he'll make it here.

Zen-like Todd
I'm thinking BCS may be the inagaural member and president of the Sage Rosenfels fanclub.
