Who wins the toilet Bowl?

  1. 1. Well, is the winner the loser and vice versa?

    • Redskins
    • Dolphins
    • One down { Jay } one to go { Bruce Allen }
    • The ultimate **** slap called a tie.

I predict an easy 27-13 victory because the dolphins are special bad, and then Bruce really does actually believe he fixed the team.

Skins start well. D generates pressure and rattles Rosen into a few mistakes and get a few sacks, one of which knocks him out of the game. Fitzpatrick comes on in relief and accidentally leads a comeback victory.

Dolphins - 23

Redskins - 21

I have been trying to come up with a word that captures the Dolphins fans love/hate relationship with this masochistic season. Something like Schadenfreude, the German word for deriving happiness from another’s misfortune. Dolphinfreude? SchadenDolphin?

Yet there’s no time for that since Washington comes threatening this inside lane to the top pick. It ranks down near the Dolphins in all of those aforementioned stats. It is 0-5. It fired coach Jay Gruden on Monday. It has an elite left tackle, Trent Williams, still holding out.

It also has a team president-for-life, Bruce Allen, who is so lost he said upon firing Gruden, “The culture is actually damn good."

It’s not all bad news, Dolphins fans. Washington has a distinctly better roster. It is a 3.5-point favorite in Las Vegas. And its old-school interim coach, Bill Callahan, wants to run the ball more.

This could fit right into the Dolphins’ losing ways. The Dolphins, you see, rank last in the league in rushing defense.

“I envision us as a running team, I’d like to get our running game going,’’ Callahan told Washington reporters. “If we can play two-down football that would be huge. To do that, the consistency of the running game has to take place.

“We have a good stable of running backs and that will be the focus. There’s been flashes of positive runs in the game. If we commit a bit more, there is a chance to get it rolling.”

You can’t blame Callahan for wishing this was the 1970s or 1980s in the NFL. That’s what every Redskins and Dolphins fan wishes, too. These franchises actually met in the Super Bowls in those decades, each team winning once.

Now they meet to decide which team stinks most. The ace in the hole for the Dolphins is Washington wants to win. The Dolphins front office and tanking fans have made it clear they don’t want to win — until draft day.

Dolphins coaches and players, however, could go rogue and win this one. They have a chance. It’s a nightmare scenario to keep tankers awake at night.

Ugh!  Skins - 16

           Fins-    7

The Dolphins have issues scoring and we do have playmakers of defense.  It's so gross to think about Bruce strutting around giving the politicians thumbs up to everyone after this and Snyder feeling better and thinking they are on the right direction.  9 ers will F their **** up though thankfully.

Something Special this weekend, the NFL's first ever 11-9 scoreline!

Three FG and a safety take the Skins to righteous victory over the Dolphins paltry three field goals and suddenly all is rosy in Dannyland.

After the game Bruce reveals he and Dan are both immortal highlanders and that they're here FOREVER.....

24-6 skins get the first dub of the season...

Phins are in full tank mode and will probably throw a pick 6 when the game is close to alleviate the tension of almost winning.

For a second there I thought you might venture into Blazing Saddles and tap in to the " Snitzen-Gruuden " ...

The Dolphons just gave us their 5th round draft pick to beat them. Skins win. Dolphins make it close with a fg with time expiring.

Skins 9

Dolphons 3

This is one of those games when the winner is actually the loser.

Skins are probably the better team.  Shows in the first half.  The usual second half collapse happens, but the dolphins don't really capitalize.  Until the 4th quarter where a few defensive holdings in a row put the dolphins on the 2 yard line.  Dolphins fans curse their team for being so close to a winning score.  Redskins fans root for another holding call.  The dolphins reluctantly punch it in for the score.  (Hard to tank from the 2 yard line isn't it suckers.). Skins fail to convert on 4th down.  Dolphins reluctantly kneel (like, the QB slooowlly kneels) and the dolphins get their first win.

That's offensive.  There's only one inept team in this game.  The other is taking on purpose.

That's good first win of the season ;)

As other posters have said, the winner of this game is actually the loser, if you consider draft positioning. Skins will win this one, but only because the Dolphins are historically bad, and are literally losing on purpose. The courageous Bruce Allen will feel vindicated in firing Gruden, as the Skins get a hard fought victory over a deliberately tanking opponent.

Skins 13

Dolphins 5

The Dolphins are like your parents who, after years of grumbling over too-high utility costs and property taxes, watch a single episode of Building Off The Grid on the DIY Network and decide to move the family into a self-sustaining mud hut deep in the forest somewhere. Pull the plug all at once and rebuild sustainably.

Washington is like that executive from Sears who, after years of ignoring the steamrolling threat of e-commerce, holds a meeting and fires anyone working for the web team. Folks, brick and mortar is going to make a comeback, just trust me on this one. Continue with the single-minded belief that you know how the game works, and barrel into irrelevance.

...That’s part of the reason you’ll get here in this almost comedic parallel universe. The Dolphins realized there was a problem and decided to tank, but may have tanked too hard, putting themselves in a situation where the crash landing might burn up the entire landscape. They are on pace to be one of the worst teams in modern NFL history this season. Washington, once again, has blamed their failures on the coaching staff and heads into this weekend with the interim Bill Callahan calling the plays. Their major takeaway? We haven’t seen nearly enough of 34-year-old running back Adrian Peterson.

Best of luck to all parties involved.

I really think the Dolphins have a chance to win this game.  Our OL is decimated (what we have of an OL).
