clskinsfan
The guy is a cancer. It appears more and more NFL teams are done with the attitude problems. When on of the best WR's of all time is out of the game for flapping his gums you know someone like DJ who struggles in coverage as a DB is screwed. It's for opening his flap, and all the charges that came with it. If he wasn't a POS off the field, I'd be okay with signing him and DJ both just to pour acid on the team and see what doesn't shrivel up and burn. It would be a science experiment. Warhead36
From what I've heard he just has not been very good. Has been getting beat regularly, but I don't know if maybe he's just not a good system fit in Arizona.

AB is clearly not on a team because of flapping his gums. He started threatening people while on the Pats through text. If he would've just shut up he'd still be on the Pats. Pretty sure any case against him wasn't criminal anyway. Just civil going after his money.

AB has trashed many people throughout his career, teammates and people outside the league. If he didn't have that whole rape thing going on, the Patriots wouldn't have cut him. Everyone knew what he was when the Patriots signed him. Legal problems changed it. Swearinger said his coaches are dumb. AB and Swearinger aren't on the same plane of existence. Regardless of medium he used, he was fired because of he threatened someone who accused him of sexual assault, which hurts immeasurably damages his legal situation. DJ's situation can't be compared to that at all because DJ doesn't have any charges against him, nor has he ever threatened someone charging him. However, he had struggled in coverage this season and had allowed a passer rating of 141.3 on passes thrown against him entering Sunday's game, according to Pro Football Focus. from ESPN Under that stat, damn near the entire Redskins secondary should be cut. kingdaddy
I still think we blew it by not taking Derwin James when he was sitting there for us....still waiting for Payne to make a difference while James is a pro bowl talent who just makes plays. So we rolled with Swearinger.

SkinsFTW
Yet they cut him and didn't get anything in a trade. And people here still believe that Trent Williams in increasing in trade value.

Maybe, but players get cut all the time and many get claimed on waivers. Particularly as teams cut down to 53. Hell, the Cowboys cut Taco Charlton and the Dolphins jumped right on him. But the Cowboys also tried to trade Taco with no takers (Also, the Ravens just cut Tim Williams and the Packers gladly claimed him, though the Packers aren't Dolphins bad). megared
Swearinger was cut week 17 last season. There was little to no reason for any team to pick up his rights, unless his contract made it favorable to do so. It's exactly why, on the opposite side, Norman would clear waivers with flying colors. If the first team in the waiver order picks the guy up, it's reasonable to assume that he could've garnered at least a day 3 pick in the draft from a team that knew they had no chance of getting him via the waiver wire. They totally mishandled it...tried to keep the safety that struggled in the system...and then paid someone else $84 M to fill the original gap created by cutting DJ. Norman does not need to clear waivers. He has more than 4 yrs in. If released he immediately becomes a free agent. Dj is is the same way. No need to clear waivers. Was that way when we released him. So your point is invalid. More importantly, he has had 5 teams in 7 seasons. People do not throw draft picks for these types of players, waivers or not. I know you just want what’s best for the team but we have to stay somewhere close to reality. Last but not least, Collins is doing the job he was signed for. They still do not have a FS. It could be argued that they should have spent that money on FS but they didn’t. Also $84M is very misleading. He is getting $44M guaranteed. That’s the important number. $84M is a fluff number. Very unlikely to see that. They can easily get out after 2021. Just $9M dead Cap. Or renegotiate.
