TK
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A2951-2003Dec15.html Samuels Hopes to Return Sunday; Ramsey Undergoes Foot Surgery By Mark Maske Washington Post Staff Writer Tuesday, December 16, 2003; Page D02 Left tackle Chris Samuels said yesterday that he hopes to return to the Washington Redskins' lineup in Sunday's game in Chicago. Samuels has missed the past three games because of a sprained knee ligament. The Redskins were down to their third left tackle -- Daryl Terrell -- during last Sunday's 27-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys at FedEx Field after Samuels's replacement, Brandon Winey, suffered a sprained knee. "I'm going to try to go out and practice Wednesday and see how it feels," Samuels said. " It's not 100 percent. But I'll go out and see what I can do and see how much pain I can tolerate." . . . Quarterback Patrick Ramsey underwent what team officials called successful surgery yesterday afternoon in Charlotte. Specialist Robert Anderson repaired a bone and a tendon in his right foot. Coach Steve Spurrier said Ramsey is scheduled to return to the D.C. area tonight and will wear a cast for three to four weeks. Spurrier said he intends to stick with Tim Hasselbeck as his starter but did not rule out getting rookie Gibran Hamdan into one of the season's final two games. Arrington on Contract Situation Linebacker LaVar Arrington said on his weekly radio appearance on WTEM that his representatives are discussing a long-term contract extension with the Redskins but he has not formally rejected any offers by the team. "The only way I won't be here is if they don't want me here," Arrington said. Arrington's contract runs through the 2006 season but counts more than $10 million against the salary cap in each of the next three seasons. Redskins officials hope to negotiate a deal that is more salary-cap-friendly over the next few years and ensures that Arrington will remain with the club for most, if not all, of the remainder of his career. . . . Tailbacks Trung Canidate (sprained foot) and Ladell Betts (fractured forearm) likely will remain sidelined this week.
OaktonSkins/BushFan
If Winey is healthy, then let him play. I'm looking forward to the Redskins cutting some fat this offseason and Samuels is a good place to start. Yeah - $5M+ for what? And I hate his stupid commercials - especially the one for United Way which is quite possibly the worst acting job (crying) that I have ever witnessed.
