Fedex Field Open House

Anyone else go to the Fedex Field open house last night.   The amount of food was insane and all of it tasted amazing.  Here are some photos of some of the new food they were showing off.   On a side note the Funnel Cakes fries were my favorite.  I will definitely need to find out where they will sell these.

I just wonder who the heck is going to football games for the food variety and the right to overpay for it.

No one goes to football games for the food variety and/or affordable cost.

But I've read numerous times from Skins fans here and on twitter that the 'meh' food at high prices at FedEx is one of the reasons fans may decide to stay home. It falls under the whole "fan experience at FedEx sucks" criticism umbrella lol...

I’ve read the same, it just always comes across like the least of the team’s problems.

Might also be the easiest and quickest to fix, though. And it rewards those fans who continue to attend. I think one of Lafemina's first actions was that whole "concession discounts for season ticket holders" thing...

Thanks for posting pictures of the event. Yeah, every year it seems they try some sort of rollout of new food options.  Seems like the Guy Fieri chicken tenders are the item getting a bit of the press from the event last night. Last season there was one game I sat in the 200s and on the way in noticed a stand selling Chinese food and thought it might be interesting. I went to the stand at halftime and it was probably the only time that I'll ever go to a stand in the middle of a game and find nobody else in line. Might have had something to do with their soft drink dispenser being down.  The food I got was OK...….aside from the crap I got from the people sitting near me for eating Chinese food at a football game lol.

It'll be interesting to see if the Skins go back to getting more tickets into brokers hands and resulting cheaper prices on the secondary market. Lafemina's strategy which did the opposite was a big reason behind the poor attendance last season, IMO. At least they'll have a decent crowd size story coming out of the gate, as the Cowboys game will always be close to a full house. I was almost surprised that it doesn't appear like they took any more seats out, aside from the 300 that are being removed to create the party deck in the east end zone to mirror the one created in the west end zone last season.

From what I’ve seen they really upgraded the food.

I gathered from an article in the WaPo that a lot of the food signs Howie shows in his OP are options for suites. For the regular joe, about the same amount of new items as in years past.

Oh ok.  I saw Julie and B Mitch talking about some new chicken tenders, fries, and grilled cheese mini’s.  Assumed they were for everyone.

Not a single donut to be seen in any of the pictures. I can forgive them though, I love me some crabcakes.

I usually bring Krispy Kreme or Sugar Shack donuts to the ES tailgate.  I agree with you on the crabcakes.

Kinda happy Redskins are going Nats way for food options. Sorry everyone doesn't eat trash like hotdogs, or hamburgers and traditional meat products.

I love hot dogs though

I’d prefer they save on the fufu stuff and give us a $5 hot dog and a Super Bowl please.

Goes back to, if they’d handle business on the field, they wouldn’t have to spend so much effort distracting us with minutiae

They need to stop selling that turf like it’s a feature. The gig is up.

Do you think they are marketing to the average Joe here?
