There are certain code words, which when spoken, functionally speaking, "activate" their base.

"Benghazi" is one of those words.  Sure, none of what he just said made any sense in the grander context of justifying the Soleimani killing, but so long as you slip that word in there, bam, base on board.

"Benghazi" also serves the useful role of immediately telling you if the person in question has a point or is a political hack. Still going on about a debunked Q-Anon/Info Wars level conspiracy years down the road indicates an attempt at stoking the base and trolling them libtards rather than an actual intelligent point.

he could mean there will be the security and backup needed that was missing at Benghazi

This makes no sense in the context of an imminent threat and it's no surprise @CousinsCowgirl84 liked this comment. If there was a threat, he would say that we have taken precautionary measures and that embassies are made aware when the threat is deemed imminent and serious. Of course this wasn't the case but hey, don't let that stop you from attempting to defend at all costs.

Shocked he actually knew of Suleimani before 3 weeks ago.

Oh he for sure didn't, but his administration has been such a rotating cesspool of shady characters with their own motivations that I am sure the name Soleimani had been floated by him several times as "bad guy"

a lot of assumptions are unwinding.

not unplanned

not strengthening the Iranian regime

not starting ww3

decision to lie is bizzaire, specially when they’ve proved to be so bad at it

The killing of Suleimani would’ve strengthened to regime. The downing of the airliner is the major problem.
No one said the act of killing Suleimani was unplanned. What wasn’t done is consulting with anyone nor considering long term consequences.
You sure do make up a lot of stuff to attempt to strengthen your claims.

re: final point I think that may be his default setting kicking in.

Seems to think that he's a good honest man. Have to remember though, claims to not support him. Just wants to constantly defend him.

You are attributing to her the exact opposite (literally the exact opposite) of what she was complaining about the President over (his lies).

She does complain about his lies and I see that, but there is a defense of his policies that is rather constant.

His policies and other actions. She can complain about the lies because she doesn’t really care that he lies all the time, but it’s just something she can use to check her off as not being a full blown cult member. But when every other post is understatedly about how everything he’s doing is working, how much he’s winning, how he’s so strategic against the Dems, or outright defenses and deflections etc...well, people can draw the obvious conclusions
