!!!!0mgz!!!! Trent Williams finally showed up

It is really tough to guess about trade compensation for Trent, or just about any NFL player these days.  I would have thought Antonio Brown would have cost more than a 3rd and 5th.  I would have said there is no way that Philly could get a 1st for Bradford.  Best hope for the Skins to get a 1st for Trent is if you have at least two teams that are serious about trying to get him.

I know a lot of Texan's fans are really wanting him to come to Houston.  However, I would guess they would hesitate to give up a first for him.  Primarily because they don't have a GM.  They are getting a lot of flack for giving up too much for a RB, and they might have trouble getting a good GM if you have already given away your 1st and 3rd round picks.  They also have a lot of good players that need extensions in the next year or two.

I’m getting over this, trade the dude already so the talk can stop and we don’t have this drama going into the season. Get whatever you can for him

Does the talk really matter? This is what happens  every year with the Redskins. Once Trent is gone there will be something else with this organization. I'm not trading a probowl tackle for nothing, because of noise. That's what Trent and his agent want. He can enjoy watching football from his couch unless the Skins get a 1st Rd pick out of it.

Skins have control of TW as he signed a binding contract with them.  Again, around the 3rd or 4th season PS game is when he more than likely is traded to another team.  Yes, a 1st or 2nd and other draft picks will get him shipped to another team.  If not, TW doesn't get paid.

Exactly all of these people talking about trading him for nothing is ridiculous. If the Skins did that it would prove really how bad this organization is.

I was thinking a trade with the Colts might be a good fit.  If Trent has been frustrated that the Skins never gave an effort to find a LG to help him out, they can say "If you want to spend the rest of your career next to the best LG in football, we just happen to have a rookie who was 1st team all pro last year".

The Colts also have Washington's 2nd round pick next year, in addition to their own.  How uncomfortable  would it be for Bruce to negotiate a trade where the Colts offer their own 2nd, but wouldn't offer the Skins second.  If you draw the line at a value of a high second... Is the Skins second considered enough?

He'd be betting against himself, too.  Approaching it as our second-round pick being any higher than 64th says more about Bruce's view on the team.

Of course he could just quit and everyone would be happy.

If he really wants to troll Trent, Bruce could trade Trent and include himself in the trade to the Texans (who need a GM).

Bruce- "Ha Ha, I'm still the boss of you!"

"He's not coming back. Period," said one source that had spoken directly to Williams.

On Redskins kickoff a few minutes ago, Santana Moss said he spoke to Trent before the season and he said then "He's not coming back period" so Santana is the source.  He told the crew about the conversation so they all knew long ago.  Said he was in tears about how he almost died.  If so, sad but is he even healthy enough to trade?  Can he put a helmet on and is his knee okay.  Maybe that's a reason to wait this one out on a trade until he's completely healthy.  JMHO

Yeah that makes no sense.

That's what Santana said...it was weird.

What an ignorant statement by Trent, he's being a baby.

The more Trent overplays his hand, the easier it is believe that this really is about money.  Guaranteed money, to be specific.

I saw some tweets a week or two ago that suggested Trent was advised by more than one Dr. that he should "Get his affairs in order" while he was awaiting the test results.  Who knows what actually happened, but it sounds like Trent is saying he thought it was very possible that he had a fatal condition.

I'm sorry but this is hard to believe, it doesn't sound like something a doctor would say to someone until they 100% knew what the prognosis was.

There's no guessing with cancer and you definitely don't scare the crap out of someone while you're waiting for the results of the biopsy.

This is crazy talk.

I’ll push back against this lightly.

Doctors and nurses have to present the worst case scenario, generally.  The under promise/over deliver dynamic is a big part of solid bedside manner.

The problem is that Trent is using it as leverage.

Maybe your right, who knows.  It just doesn't sound like something a doc would say to someone who hasn't even been diagnosed.  I could see if they are on their death bed or the test results came back and the outlook was grave but that wasn't the case at all.

It really makes no sense to be this dug in over the medical staff. I’m a plastic surgeon and have treated thousands of skin cancers. First of all, there are no dermatologists on the immediate medical staff and so I don’t really get the misunderstanding over a questionable skin cancer diagnosis. They don’t have anyone qualified to make a diagnosis. While I’m skeptical of the skins front office, this has to be about much more, not simply the handling of a skin lesion. Trent should have know to go to a specialist. It’s pretty elementary!
