Fresh8686
This is amazing. An ethics watch dog has blown a gaping hole in Trumps obstruction efforts. They can block congress from requesting it, but not a group of everyday citizens filing to nonpartisan clerks in court. And once its released, it’s public information for everyone to read. Including congress. They have dozens more filings pending and presumably soon to be released.

Skin'emAlive
This is huge.. What these documents show is corruption that spans much further back than july, and a fairly clear reason why Yovanovitch was a key witness. taken from reddit: Quote Giuliani (and therefore Trump) already had a deal set up with former Ukrainian president Poroshenko, the same deal in the “quid pro quo” he pressured Zelensky into. By April of this year, at the latest, Poroshenko had already agreed to announce investigations into Burisma and 2016 election interference, but wanted to delay until after the election. This little tidbit was buried in an article about Parnas and Fruman that came out about a week ago. When Poroshenko lost to Zelensky, a frustrated Trump and Giuliani had to start over nearly from scratch. Which is undoubtedly why they were so keen to keep Poroshenko-ally and fellow Biden-hater Lutsenko in office as head prosecutor...he would surely grease the wheels with Zelensky and make absolutely sure he made the investigation announcement. But when Zelensky proved to not only have morals but also a spine, kicking Lutsenko to the curb, Trump turned up the heat by withholding the public support and military assistance Zelensky desperately needed. This wasn’t just about one phone call. This impeachment is about the president cooperating with a foreign power in an ongoing, year-long campaign of disinformation and extortion. Just like he did with Russia, only in that situation I’m pretty sure Trump was the one being extorted. Zelensky wasn’t supposed to win. Giuliani and his goons were going to roll the Russian oil pipeline through Ukraine with the help of Lutsenko while poroshenko would have announced an investigation into Ukrainian interference into the 2016 elections. Putin would have owned Ukraine through the corrupt president and eventually full energy dependency, and Trump with the election interference investigations. But Yovanovitch helped root out corruption, and Zelensky was the real deal. https://www.wsj.com/articles/giuliani-associates-urged-ukraines-prior-president-to-open-biden-election-probes-11573247707

Nunes has been out front, leading the GOP obstruction of justice parade at least since Trump took office. (He was probably a weasley piece of dung before that, but not spectacular enough for me to notice.) And the GOP voters in his no doubt gerrymandered district will loudly applaud him for it. @DCGoldPants
This is the opportunity I suggested weeks ago. Taking out the loudest inner circle of defenders. Focus right now should be on Nunes and Pompeo for the Dems. Be smart and don't even mention Trump by name. Maybe even leak that you're "wondering" if they did this behind Trump's back to create that rift (They don't believe that). Don't hand anything over to the Senate. Make Graham sweat wondering if he's next. But really, Jordan should be next.

visionary
Only problem with getting rid of Nunes is he may be replaced by someone more effective or at least less obviously loathsome. Ethically he probably should be long gone by now though.

Nunes won't be, but he SHOULD be toxic to the GOP right now. You want Nunes to be pushed aside, and then you want to isolate Jordan. Then you want to leave Stefanik who clearly is in over her head to be the one to be their voice (if she doesn't back off). Then the question is "We just had X days of testimony and are now finding out that people that should have been subject to investigation were the same people asking questions. Do we start over? Do we bring people back?" Slow roll it and leave Nunes out there dangling.
Jumbo
nunes-wise, i know it's a big pain but i think we go ahead and fill out the paperwork for the firing squad the good news is once we get that tiresome bureaucratic process complete we can just move on and use it on the rest of the ignorant stupid crazy malevolent lying traitorous gopers in congress (iow, all of them)

Jumbo
just saw a standard agency-used chart compiled by the current admin officials with numerous countries ranked by "degree of corruption" and amount of money authorized to be released to each...it had about 15-20 well-known nations ranked by this admin as having more serious corruption issues than ukraine, some very much so, and yet also had even more money on its way to them without any hold-ups or resistance of any kind from potus & cabinet anyone who speaks in defense of this goper party or this admin can go crawl into a more natural swamp and do their part to ensure the survival of the gator population....it could be a direct way for otherwise harmful gopers to do something positive towards protecting other endangered species than just devoting all their energy into saving the orange swine

mistertim
Why is MSNBC the only place that has stories up about the documents put out by the State Department in response to this lawsuit?
Jumbo
the dems are doing the smartest thing by closing the inquiry phase now the way they did they left options for processing new events/data that may related to impeachable conduct it will be a minimum 3-4 weeks before anything gets to the senate even if nothing were to happen, and some of them (on the relevant committees) do expect more to happen...but chasing the tail of any of the up-to-now no shows just seems dumb to me based on all we've seen to date from gopers' behavior.... assuming that they'd, any of them, would be helpful to the dems is more dumb than not.....yes, it's still conceivable they might damage their dear leader in some serious manner but i'd call it quite a remote possibility entertained at great risk i think it's much more likely, simply going by existing longtime behavioral evidence in each player's history, that they'd do at least as much harm to dems as good when they could, and most likely actually do more harm than good, muddying things up at best just think about who they are... they would cover their own ass as much as they could and then **** on the dems where/if they could...they're not gonna try to hurt trump with any real impact...at best they might "disapprove" or "disagree" or point out a lie, but none of it will be anything different than those same behaviors already presented in credible evidence over and over
