And to be fair, it specified "X-Ray TECH", not X-Rays....maybe the X-Ray Tech is the same guy that performs MRI's, so maybe he was actually speaking of an MRI ?

Hope so but until I hear news from a creditable source. I'm not believing anything.

Different machines different certifications. Different Techs. Most likely the guy who reported this does not know the difference.

Sure. Because all professional medical offices confiscate the phones of their patients to avoid this sort of thing.

No because you are not supposed to discuss someone else's medical condition where others can hear the conversation. Like at the pharmacy or Dr office where there is a line you stand behind so you cannot hear private patient information. Violations like this get people fined and sued all the time. Disclosing medical information to an unauthorized 3rd party is a big deal. That is why I personally think the post is BS. This is Dr office 101 type stuff.

Also, it's "HIPAA."

I don't know the details of the situation, so I don't know if they actually did this, but I imagine they're supposed to make some kind of effort to make sure their verbal reports are not done loud enough to be in earshot of other patients.

Not saying it happened either way. But we don't know. So it's not just about phones.

I remember when Guice tore his knee up in the preseason game, there was video of him laughing, joking, & saying it wasn't a big deal in the locker room after the game. It gave me some hope that it wasn't as bad, then came the MRI.   These kinds of injuries are weird because often times the person can still walk on the leg and look relatively normal despite the tear(s).

Also most Dr offices these days say no cell phone use beyond the waiting room. Most people do not comply but they have signs for this very reason. If you choose to use your phone and record something it is on you not them. You are violating their office policies and they can ask you to stop and it helps to protect them from liability. Either way I seriously doubt that cell phone report is accurate but who knows.

Drs office should be sued for a HIPAA violation.

You can't sue the MDO for a HIPAA violation when they didn't violate HIPAA.   They didn't release any info to the press/media about their patient.  Some dude getting treatment there at the same time ease dropped and posted what they heard.

Edit:  I used to get allergy shots a while back (for over a span of 27 years) and spent a lot of time in waiting rooms and waiting couches outside of the nurses station (where they did labs and gave shots).  You hear things even when you don't want to.

The MD office I last went to, the X-Ray room was right down the hall from the waiting area outside the nurses station, from time to time you would hear patients asking questions to the Tech as they were leaving and being escorted back to the lobby or where they check out to pay.  Sometimes through closed doors you would hear someone talking or giving good/bad news (if it was a quiet day), sometimes it was just sounded like Charlie Browns teacher talking.......

Dwayne Haskins is no doctor and neither am I, but...

he witnessed the Foster injury and his response was

"I think he just got rolled up on. I think he'll be okay".

He didn't seem concerned about it. But then again, he hasn't seemed like the type of guy to get really emotional about too many things.

Not an official diagnosis, of course.

Take it FWIW.

My initial thought to the injury happening was that best result at this stage is fracture/dislocation of some kind. Anything in the region of a 3 month lay of right now would be major bonus. Hope we get lucky here.

How often does a fracture or discolation of the knee come without damage to the lingaments, though? I think the best case is some kind of hyper-extension. Not very optimistic, though.

Not sure about the stats on this.  But as a child, I wrecked my bike, flew off and my knee slammed the curb.  I had a ton of fluid build up, had to be drained twice, multiple sets of x-rays done and it was deemed a dislocation and nothing torn.  This was back in 1988, so long time before MRIs were common practice, especially in small towns like I grew up in.

So it's possible......granted, I have have often wondered in my adult life if there was a partial tear or not.

Based on what a a good rookie year.

That and a stellar College career - yeah. There have been very few doubts about his ability.

His ability to stay available due to injury or off field issues is another question.
