ok, I think we have our communication mixed up here....i'm talking about NEXT YEAR (vegas) draft...PCS said the colts receive our 2nd round pick NEXT YEAR (meaning we wouldn't have the draft pick in the 2nd round, they would). on the tv, i'm pretty sure it said the colts gave US their draft pick in the 2020 nfl draft (again, NEXT YEAR). did I just mis-read that on the tv?

Giving our future 2nd was the price we paid to swap picks this year. How could they give us their future 2nd? They'd be paying us and giving us the better draft pick lol. That's what I meant before. Either the TV was wrong or you read it wrong. If they didn't get our 2nd next year in the deal it would be free or a net gain for us which makes no sense. 

 

The trade was this years 2nd and next years second for their 1st this year.

so in short, the answer to my question was the colts get OUR 2nd round pick in 2020, and that I misread the tv screen? cause that's all I was trying to find out, whether I mis-read it or not. wasn't looking for all the extra **** 😂😂😂

Yes. If the answer is all you wanted lol, the answer is yes you misread it. 

 

I was going for the "teach a man to fish" response because the alternative you present where we receive their future pick is impossible and doesn't make sense, so should be easy to rule out. 

 

But I understand. You were on TV tonight, us message board peons can do the thinking ;)

then that's all you needed to say. I knew that sounded strange when I mis-read it on tv, hence why I asked the simple question, did I misread it or not. coulda solved this a lot quicker had you just simply said "yes" or "no" :P

also, my brother (now a titans fan) gave me **** for the redskins drafting Montez sweat due to the heart condition thing. I tried telling him that NFL Network says the heart condition might have been misdiagnosed, but he's saying "oh, cause i'm sure NFL Network is smarter than the doctors....". 

 

anyone wanna give me some info that I could share with him to make him look stupid?

Sweat recently met with Houston Texans team doctor Dr. James Muntz and was told he had been misdiagnosed with a heart condition in February while at the scouting combine, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, via sources with direct knowledge of the situation.

 

Tests taken at the combine revealed Sweat might have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which results in thickening of the heart walls, as doctors in Indianapolis measured nearly two centimeters of thickness, according to Rapoport. Sweat has since met with several experts, who concluded that doctors at the combine accidentally included capillary muscle in their testing and that Sweat's actual measurement is about 1.5 centimeters, Rapoport added.

Soooo last year there was all that funny business with Guice and we steal him in the bottom of the 2nd round and this year the funny business with Sweat and we steal jim in the bottom of the 1st. Bwhahahaha Redskins are doing something right.

Redskins find gold mine with Montez Sweat at No. 26 overall

The Redskins wanted to be the team to stop Montez Sweat's fall in Round 1. After losing Preston Smith in free agency, this was an awesome selection for Washington. 

Sweat is Jadeveon Clowney-like. Seriously. He had a better combine than Clowney and is right around the same size with longer arms. And I think Sweat enters the league as a more refined, versatile pass-rusher than Clowney was when he came into the NFL out of South Carolina. 

He can win with speed, decent bend, speed-to-power and a nice arsenal of initial moves and counter moves with his hands. Job well done here by Washington.

26. Indianapolis Colts to Washington Redskins

Pick: Montez Sweat, LB, Mississippi State

Vitals: 6-6, 260

Analysis: Redskins traded up into the first round to get a pass rusher ho was expected to go top 15 before an issue involving his heart was realized. Sweat is a great athlete, but the hat issue is why he lasted until No. 26. Grade: B

 

Yahoo Sports:

Washington Redskins (via trade with Colts): Montez Sweat, DE Mississippi State

Maybe the biggest question mark in this draft. Sweat's talent as a defensive playmaker isn't in question; his enlarged heart is. Some teams took him off their boards entirely. The Redskins clearly did not, trading up to get him. They paid a price (a second rounder this year and next), but they got a top-10 talent late in the first round. GRADE: A-

Montez Sweat, EDGE, Mississippi State

Yeah, there's issues. There were teams that took him off the board with concerns about the heart. The ability is there. The ability is phenomenal. He's fast, he made a lot of plays. Had a great senior year. Controversial pick to keep an eye on going forward after Redskins gave up picks to trade back into first round. Grade: B

 

Andy Benoit:

26. Washington Redskins (via Indianapolis Colts): DE Montez Sweat

The Redskins traded up to address a position that was not of significant need, and in doing so, tacitly declared that they missed on 2017 second-round pick Ryan Anderson, who has been mostly nondescript in his first two seasons. Sweat is a “great on paper” guy who has also flashed on film. The hope is he will provide a raw edge-bending presence opposite Ryan Kerrigan, who remains solid, if not spectacular, off the left side. Worth noting is that Sweat will be taught by Jim Tomsula, who is one of the industry’s highest regarded position coaches.

GRADE: B+

 

Mile High Report:

26. Washington - Montez Sweat - EDGE

I had Sweat as my number 3 Edge rusher in this class and would have liked him at 41 if he slid that far because of his heart questions. It’s weird that Snyder had a good day 1. Just weird. This grade gets a hit because I don’t like giving away future picks, I think it’s a silly gamble because you never know when injury luck is going to tank your team.

26. Redskins (from IND): Montez Sweat, Edge Mississippi State

Analysis: The Redskins just lost a pass rusher from Mississippi State (Preston Smith) and they replaced him with another one who has an even higher ceiling. Montez Sweat ran a faster 40 than Odell Beckham! He dropped after being apparently misdiagnosed with a heart issue at the combine, so Washington is getting a top-15 talent here after getting a top-10 talent in Dwayne Haskins. The Redskins are killing the draft, and I have no idea what’s real anymore.

Grade: A-

Washington didn’t have to give up much to get back into the first round, sending No. 46 and a 2020 second-round pick to the Colts. Only giving up that much, it landed them Sweat, the best player available and a big need fill. This type of move is what the draft is all about.

Athleticism: A+. Some of the numbers Sweat put up at the combine—including a 4.41-second 40 at 260 pounds—were downright stunning.

First-Step Quickness: B+.

Power: B. Sweat did some things to offensive linemen in Senior Bowl pit drills that should be banned by the Geneva Conventions, but he is inconsistent in this area on tape.

Pass-Rushing Moves: C+. Sweat has a signature head-fake move that he uses to set up his blocker before either knifing inside or attacking the edge. He also has a bull rush that can be effective against weaker pass protectors. But he lacks a well-defined arsenal of moves.

Run Support: B. Sweat holds his own at the point of attack and has some diagnostic skills.

Coverage: Does not apply.

Worries: Health concerns, some minor character concerns.

Sweat was diagnosed with a heart condition at the combine. Recent reports suggest he may have been misdiagnosed, but some teams appear to have taken him off the board, based on the fact that players such as Clelin Ferrell were taken ahead of him.

Sweat left Michigan State for Mississippi State after a suspension for never-disclosed reasons and has a reputation for being an ornery individual, even by the high standards set by sack specialists.

 

Smart teams don’t draft edge-rushers for their social skills, and Sweat has the tools and motor to be a perennial Pro Bowler if he stays healthy and his technique and consistency improve.

 

The Skins didn’t give up too much to trade up for Sweat. This isn’t a critical need pick, but it’s a move with the potential to pay off in the long run.

- He earned the 17th-best pass-rushing grade at the position.
