2019 NFL Draft discussion thread

WOW why all the negativity, who would you guys have liked the team to draft????

I think you haters will be surprised once Haskins learns the offense and starts to play, give the guy a chance before you start comparing him to other past QBs.

"Haskins threw for 4,831 yards, 50 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2018, while Jones threw for 2,674, 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions during the same season."

so are weapons

How do you throw with a DT in your face? Just saying if you want to play football... You go interior lineman to compliment this pick.

Campbell was dumber than dirt; Haskins actually appears to have a high football IQ. Patrick Ramsey might be a better comparison.

But we are the Redskins, and we haven't drafted a franchise QB in the first round since Sammy Baugh.

Our OL is falling apart. He is just the newest drummer for Spinal Tap.

the line was not falling apart, it was wrecked

So the football guys wanted to address other areas of need, but Danny and Brucie wanted Haskins.  Sigh.

That's BS.....how do you pass on Haskins when he falls in your lap?

Funny how you guys think we can find a QB like finding a penny on the street.  Who else would you want to draft?

They must not have liked Rosen at all. You could have had Rosen plus a stud DE, CB, etc, at 15, but chose to spend that pick on Haskins instead.

I don't get it.

Do we really know what Arizona wants for Rosen?

I will say that as much as I wanted other guys, everybody has question marks at this point. Burns played at 220, Sweat and his heart, the ILBs are gone, the CBs are too early, same for WRs. The OT and OGs were already picked. We could have picked somebody but there were questions. I doubt Haskins has an impact of a ROY type player but there are several worse moves we could have made.

Give Haskins half a season or more to learn the ropes, and this is an absolute miracle to happen to DC. I cant understate how good this pick is for DC. Im still pretty sure we trade up to get Darnell Savage, and then draft Parris Campbell in the 2nd... but the draft is already a win for me.

Here's hoping guys like Robert Davis, Cam Sims, Trey Quinn, P-Rich and others can stay healthy and make plays.

Ladies and gentlemen, your Washington Redskins receiving corps.

Championship.

Am I crazy to feel like Haskins=Campbell?

Yea I was thinking him or Byron Leftwich. and I'm not excited about either of those prospects..Just watching highlights of him with clean pockets and time he'll never have in the NFL we'll just have to wait and see.

The coaching staff is getting fired after this season, of course they wanted a win-now player. They were stuck starting Keenum either way and wanted help. That's not how you build a team

NFL.com is horrible... .WTF

Check out his:

Strengths
  • Groomed for this moment since he was young
  • Rare passing production
  • Has been mentored by NFL receiver Mohamed Sanu
  • Well-schooled with understanding of how to get himself protected
  • Will bet big to win big

I'm okay with the pick. His desire to be here is a plus. They just said he had a 20-2 TD to INT ratio against ranked opponents. That's impressive. With the rumors of the jackass owner trading up to the 3 spot to get him I was quite relieved we landed him at 15. Hope he pans out.

I was thinking trade for Rosen

Still would do this. By taking Haskins, we reduced even further the trade value for Zona.

Seriously, what do we really know about any of these young receivers outside of P-Rich? Give them a chance before ripping them. And we aren't winning the championship this year if we had Julio, Odell and Antonio....That's a pipe dream.
