If we make a rule where every time someone says "socialism" you take a drink, we would all die.

Sounds like something a socialist would say.

National healthcare is a good policy to work towards. But imagine being so dumb that you show up at AOC’s office to protest for it, instead of working in districts with members of Congress who are currently not on board.

Leftist activism is mostly a clown show in the US.

The problem with Susan Sarandon's take on this (as well as a ton more) is they think something would be accomplished by AOC disengaging from the process, crossing her arms and sitting on the sidelines when in reality if you want medicare for all and other progressive policies then you need to work to get more like-minded candidates elected into the party so that they are the majority policy makers.  You can't put the entire weight of these policies on a small handful of representatives nor can you act like they should just not pass anything ever if it isn't 100% what they want.

AOC responds to Kellyanne Conway saying she won't resign from US Air Force Academy board: 'Don't let the fascist victim complex hit you on the way out'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted at the former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, "Don't let the fascist victim complex hit you on the way out," after Conway refused to resign from the board of visitors for the US Air Force Academy on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, the White House Office of Presidential Personnel sent letters to former members of the Trump administration asking them to relinquish their positions on advisory and visitor's boards for the US Military Academy, the US Naval Academy, and the US Air Force Academy. Those who did not resign would be given the boot.

Those asked to step down included Conway, the former press secretary Sean Spicer, and the former national security advisor H.R. McMaster.

In response, Conway posted a letter on Twitter, addressed to President Joe Biden, in which she said she was not resigning from her position on the board of visitors for the US Air Force Academy.

"I'm not resigning, but you should," Conway signed off in her letter.

Ocasio-Cortez quote-tweeted Conway and responded to her rejection letter.

"A predictable, if not unfortunate, outcome. Clinging onto vestiges of power against the people's will is kind of your /Trump's / the GOP's thing," she wrote.

"When you're fired, don't let the fascist victim complex hit you on the way out."

Ocasio-Cortez fires back at Manchin after he refers to her as 'young lady'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y) on Sunday fired back at Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) after the centrist senator referred to her as "young lady" while responding to criticism from the congresswoman.

"In Washington, I usually know my questions of power are getting somewhere when the powerful stop referring to me as 'Congresswoman' and start referring to me as 'young lady' instead," she tweeted.

"Imagine if every time someone referred to someone as 'young lady' they were ask responded to by being addressed with their age and gender?" she continued. "They'd be pretty upset if one responded with 'the old man,' right? Why this kind of weird, patronizing behavior is so accepted is beyond me!"

Ocasio-Cortez's comments come after Manchin made remarks about the congresswoman during an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union" when he discussed recent accusations from the House lawmaker that the senator huddles "weekly" with personnel from Exxon Mobil.

Manchin denied those allegations during the CNN appearance, saying they are "totally false" and that such comments "continue to divide, divide, divide."

"I don't know that young lady that well. I really don't. I have met her one time, I think, between sets here. But that's it. So we have not had any conversations. She's just speculating and saying things because she wants to," Manchin added.

Why Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Book Deal Hasn’t Appeared On Her Financial Disclosures

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) has not made any money from her memoir, according to her literary agent, providing an explanation for why her annual financial disclosures have not mentioned her book deal.

“Any advance for the book went to the congresswoman’s collaborator and not to the congresswoman (per House Ethics guidelines), and she has not earned any money from the book,” says Steve Ross, Omar’s agent. “Anything else you hear about her benefiting financially from the book is groundless—and erroneous—speculation.”

Omar signed a contract with HarperCollins for This Is What America Looks Like, worth an estimated $100,000-plus, around the time she entered Congress in 2019, Forbes has reported. Per Ross though, that advance went to Omar’s co-author, Rebecca Paley.

As for royalty payments, typically an author doesn’t earn them until any advance is paid off. Sales figures for Omar’s book make it appear unlikely she reached that threshold by the end of 2020. Published that May, Omar’s memoir has sold 9,500 print copies in the United States through last week, according to NPD BookScan, an industry data service.
