redman Posted December 23, 2001 Share Posted December 23, 2001 was two big plays by the Bears - one of which was a fake FG - which resulted in 14 points. I'm sorry, but that's not on the defense, that's on our offense and Jimmy Raye. We were making plays during the game, and then got away from what was succeeding: solid running play, play-action fakes and short passes to backs, and crossing patterns to WR's. Instead, it seemed in the 4th quarter we just decided to chuck it around the yard, and we gave up 4 or so of our sacks, and failed to get any yards until 3 mins were left. And once again, we can't get it done in the red zone. There's only two differences between us and the now 11-3 Bears- they make the most of their limited opportunities to score, and we don't, and they make far fewer mistakes than we do.
