2019 ES GMs Mock Draft - Final!

WOOOOO! You miss a couple of days and you have a whole round to catch up on!

EXCELLENT work fellas as always! We always manage to finish in good time for the 'actual draft.' Our time-frame/ slots are just about right every year and this year we've all surpassed ourselves. Superb.

FWIW, as we some of us throw 5-10 PFA's up post-draft (most of which look to have gone the 7th darn it!), the Cowboys would like to bring in-

QB. C.J. Collins. Southeastern Assemblies of God. (It's a Texas thang.).

OG. B.J. Autry. Jacksonville State.

OG. Iosua Opeta. Weber State.

DL. Michael Dogbe. Temple.

DL. Iseoluwapo Jageda. Valdesta State.

ILB, Cole Holcomb, North Carolina.

OLB. Dre Greenlaw. Arkansas.

CB. Chris Westry. Kentucky.

CB. Derrick Thomas. Baylor.

FS. Mike Bell. Fresno State. (Had a 3/4 grade on him. Go figure?).

I don't think any of those have been drafted. Apologies if they have. Absolute travesty Dogbe, Greenlaw and Holcomb, in particular, weren't drafted.

I'll round out the position/ school/ conference stats and a final Cowboys draft wrap-up in due course.

Again, super work everyone from our first-time Commish on down. After the fractious draft last year, this year was back to being highly enjoyable again.

Thanks to one and all.

Hail.

The 2019 ES Mock Draft is officially complete!  And what a great draft!

A specific shout out to @Skinsinparadise for his help. While only one person can update the OP, he was here to keep things going several times when I was busy. But we both had a lot of help from all the GMs. So thanks to everyone for taking ownership of notifying the next GMs and keeping it going. We always seem to slow around the end of the 4th rd into the 5th. But you guys really finished with a flurry! Great job by all.

While i knew we could count on the veteran GMs, I was very impressed with the new GMs. Everyone really brought it. The work that goes into preparing for and then participating in an exercise like this is not trivial to say the least. And it is clear everyone did their homework and then some. The most appreciated was staying on task and keeping up with the picks. Some numbers that bear this out:

3 - Number of Skips - At least for my 4 yrs participating, this is very low. I think I heard last yr was 9 just for reference.

2 - The numbers of players we attempted to pick twice - It's can be tough keeping the boards straight. But it goes to the attention to detail for this group.

1 - The number of GMs replaced -  And just for the record that GM did get back with me. It seems their phone had an argument with a lake and the phone lost. I don't know exact numbers, but I am certain every other year there were multiple GMs that had to be replaced.

The statistics above make this whole thing run smoother. So many thanks to all.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed this as much as I did. Again, the level of research and thought put into each team by every GM is in my opinion extraordinary. Based on most of the drafts here I would put you guys up against many of the actual GMs. The writes ups were incredibly detailed.

I look forward to seeing everyone next year! Remember, you will get first shot at the team you had this year. OK, off to write up my draft summary! 🙂

This was a lot of fun.  I feel more educated about all the prospects going into the real draft from some of the great write ups which should make watching the draft more enjoyable  Especially the 3rd day when I usually don't know who a lot of the guys are.  I'll for sure be cheering for my picks to not go undrafted, lol.  I hope to take part again next year.

I echo that. Not only did he do the large majority of the work as to running it, he also was the main catalyst to make this mock happen in the first place.

To be honest, I thought about thanking you too, but since he was the one updating the OP with picks and trades (can’t imagine how many updates that took, lol), I figured my ‘thank you’ to you earlier in the thread was enough 😜

Seriously though, you guys were great

Thanks.  But all I did was some pinch hitting.  Others helped on that front, too.  Goskins10 had to do all the updating.  He was on fire from the get go with this.  And like I said he pushed to make it happen.

One last shoutout - here’s to @wilco_holland for spicing things up with his... cheerleading 😁

I think you meant @Wildbunny   🙂

And yes, those spirited pics form our dear Frenchman are always a pleasure to review.

Not to mention the help in notifications and other housekeeping! I should have recognized them earlier.

Jacksonville Jaguars Draft Summary

Selections:

1.3 Quinnen Williams DT Alabama

1.21 Noah Fant TE Iowa

3.69 Connor McGovern OG/C  Penn State

4.109 Mecole Hardman WR Georgia

5.149 Mike Edwards S Kentucky

6.188 Phil Haynes OG/T Wake Forest

7.241 Alexander Mattison RB Boise State

7.249 Mitch Wishnowsky P Utah

7.254 Hunter Renfrow WR Clemson

All in all I believe that this was a successful draft for the Jaguars with a high focus placed on trying to improve the offense to give Nick Foles more weapons and protection along the offensive line. Two defensive players were drafted who I believe could have an immediate impact on the already very solid defense of the Jaguars. If a balance between the offense and the defense at the Jaguars can be found then they will be a very dangerous proposition. This draft would have been even better if at 7.249 I could have taken John Cominsky who was taken three picks before however it gave me the opportunity to help to improve the special team at the Jaguars which has been solid without being spectacular.

Not as many as the Chargers did in 2018, but we will settle at 18, discipline is the key.

Heck of a good time, despite being locked up for a couple rounds & my top pick being driven to his future games by a friendly coroner.

We are also going to bring in Ronald Ollie for an extensive psych evaluation before letting him near the culture we are building in Buffalo. #4TheCulture.

I, dan snyder, would like redskins nation to give thanks to the greatest gm there was, there is and best there ever will be...bruce allen for making this team a title contender over this draft as we have had the best draft ever. Bruce is in the other room talking on the phone with the coors rep to get a direct tap in the draft room so we would like to conclude our GOAT draft. We set out to have the greatest and by every bit of means we had the greatest. You think not? Lets have some coors and talk about it.

First of all, we got the goat cb..he gonna be better than primetime, revis, and peterson all together.  Ya heard me? Its dirty murphy.

1-15) The goat, cb- washington

Second of all, we got it all on lock down. Superbowl? Pfttt its on lock. Sb odds for skins just became .15:1

2-46) its on lock, qb- Missouri

Seriously, how did he make it that far?

Thirdly, pratt yourself on the back...you other peonic gms....because we just secured the best front 7 in the league.

3-76) pratt yourself, lb, nc state

Second thirdly, uh zuglahaven des beggin the questionzugen...top 1 ol nowsenheiser. Howzer?

3-96) Beau Benschewelzeigerneuglinhaven, OG, Wisconsin

Fourthly, and fifthly - the next jason taylor is en route to DC...as a pass rush specialist.

5-153)  jalen taylor jelks, oregon

For all you greek mythologist lovers, we got the Zeus...yup. THAT ZEUS and he gonna zeus zeus riot in the slot.

5-173) olamide Zeuzchaus, wr, uva @volsmet

Sixthly, we got the robotic lengthy primetime, who can jump higher than a harris weel...he will be rounding out the corner depth.

6-206) deion primetime harriswheel, cb, North dakota

Seventhly, what you telling me is thats its heavenly. I got the recipe to weed out discrepancies...u checkin me?

7-227) alex bars, OL, Notre damus

And its cole world for this young predecessor to mister irrelevant

7-253) cole tracy, k, lsu

We had the goal to really secure the OL interior and beau can lock down lg. Alex bars played multiple positions so he and flowers would be battling for depth. Drew lock will have an open competition to supplant case for the starter. And we had to get another lb in next to reuben foster. Mason cant do it anymore and needs to get cut. Slide pratt next to him and that is one hell of a front 7. Murphy and norman with dunbar is good as it can gets 1-3 corners plus landon collins roaming around will make it that much better. Jelks has all the tools to be a filthy pass rush just needs to work om his first step and technique a little bit but he has a decent amount of moves to help compliment who we have already. Dhop got competition and olamide my fav player i drafted would undoubtedly take that slot role and never be challenged...hes that good. He can also fill a CT role if u wanted. Overall, we think we killed the draft, rounding out the defense as a whole, interior line, a qb

I was looking to get a bigger receiver and te but yall kept picking them up.

This was fun guys

Tennessee Titans Draft Recap

1-19-19 Deandre Baker, CB, Georigia

2-3-35(from Oakland) Erik McCoy, OL, Texas A&M

4-19-121 Greg Gaines, DL, Washington

5-19-157 David Sills V, WR, West Virginia

5-24-162 Tre Watson(from Oakland), LB, Maryland

6-40-213(from Dallas) Shareef Miller, Edge, Penn St.

7-9-223(from Dallas) David Parham, TE, Steve

7-34-248 James Williams, RB, Washington St.

Im happy with my draft for what I had to do. Filling holes in the D and doing what I could to help Mariota at the same time, keeping him up right and giving him weapons was key. Adding McCy to a good O line and Sills V, Williams and Parham to the passing game was key.

As for the D, Deandre Baker is my favorite player in this draft, kid is a stud all around. I feel that being able to grab Shareef Miller and Tre Watson as late as I did was a great value. Greg Gaines was my surprise as I really wanted Saunders at this pick but Gaines should play well and be used to take the pressyre of of Jurrell Cassy

I wont dare name all the udfa i would bring in but I will name a few

Tre Lamar, LB, Clemson- I almost took this kid 3 times during the draft process

Kyle Shurmur, QB, Vanderbilt

Tim Ward, Edge, Old Dominion

Chidi Okeke, OL, Tenn St.

Darius West, S, Kentucky

Would love to read some praise and criticisms of my draft by the elder GM's. We dont have to include the botched trade lol
