The Washington Nationals Thread: The Future is Near!

Beating the Phillies is so much more fun and satisfying than beating other teams... This has been a fun week.

Now if only we can keep this up against the Barves...

The Nationals love to talk about their young outfielders Juan Soto and Victor Robles, but it seems that the youngsters’ bats are taking a little summer vacation. In the month of June, Soto has an OPS of .666 and Robles is at .536. I wonder if these guys miss having a certain veteran presence in the lineup?

This series:

Harper: 1/9, 3 Ks 1 RBI

Soto: 4/11, 1 2B 2 RBI

Robles: 3/6 2 HR 4 RBI.

College rookie from Philly texted me after the double header to say the Phillies are collapsing. I said it's early and they're injured. The worry is ATL staying hot until it's too late.

Either way, the series was absolutely the best the Nats could have hoped for.

Suzuki. Might need to keep him starting until he goes cold.

Harper isn't even getting all star votes. Philly fans "the greatest city on Earth" have turned on him already. Even when he was sucking here he was getting votes.

Best part is - they don't have any opt outs and a no trade clause in the deal :ols:

Call me petty, but I especially like the never-a-strike-change-up that bounced in front of the plate. I'll move on when we start playing the Braves tonight (problem is, their players are really likable, except for McCann)

It's fine ragging on Harper, but that was posted by the official  Nats twitter account?  Kinda bush for the organization to do that.
