Win tonight and we give the ball to Max freaking Scherzer for a chance to win a world championship. Although it probably wouldn't be till Monday, tomorrow looks like a rain filled mess.

I have been on the Astros forums and their fans are convinced a rainout helps them more than us. I am not so sure. Our bullpen isnt near as deep as theirs. A rainout should help us I think.

A rainout absolutely helps them more than us.  The best part of the blowout game 2 and not that close game 3 was that we only had to use 1 inning of our mainstay bullpen arm.  Also, if the series goes long, having Doo and Hudson be used in 2 day blocks with a travel day in between helps us manage a heavy load better.

Also, Astros had to cover 4+ innings with their pen yesterday.  Add the bullpen day today, they will be severely taxed going into tomorrow.  Which means our task will be to work the hell out of Cole and get to the pen as soon as possible.  Give them a rest day tomorrow, the advantage of two straight days of heavy pen use goes away.

The absolute best case scenario for us today would be chasing Urquidy early.  Gets the crowd into the game and force Houston to exhaust all of their pen and gets us a get out of jail card against Cole where our focus will be on racking up the pitch count early.  Which in turn forces Cole to be aggressive with his game plan and tries to attack the Nats because he will have to go long, which makes him more predictable.
