Looking ahead to brigher, non-Martinez managed days...

2 outlets have the Nationals taking Catcher Shea Langeliers in the June draft. Seems like an interesting prospect and we don't have squat at catcher for the future.

If the nats are interested, its safe to assume he is either injured or a troubled character looking to rebound

Broken hamate bone

Saw him projected to Reds at 7 in an earlier mock. Would be a great value at 17. MLB-ready defense and his bat has great upside, hitting for power every year in college as well as for average his freshman year. Probably would be our opening day catcher in 2021.

edit- seeing other mocks that still have him top 10

Looks like George Kirby (RHP) at Elon is another guy mocked to the Nats at 17 or shortly thereafter. Given our need for pitching depth in our farm system, I'd think he'd be a popular choice as well.

Keep an eye on Michael Busch (1B/OF) from UNC as well. Undersized for 1B but strong left handed bat.

Keith Law (think of him what you will, and you wouldn't be wrong) has Langiliers mocked to us--and he's typically really in tune with who we want. Without the ability to trade picks, there isn't much need for the NFL-style subterfuge.

Gotcha, tried to see his but don't have Insider. If he falls to us that could be a steal.

"Squat"  I see what you did there.

Trea Turner is at Potomac tonight for a rehab assignment to test his broken right index finger.

Having a healthy Turner at the top of the order may help jump-start this stalled offense,

More importantly, it will put Difo on the bench, permanently. Maybe even get him DFA'd...
