That changed like 10 years  ago.

Yep. It used to be ok for the D-line to jump as long as they got back in time, but now if the D jumps and it causes the O-line to move in reaction, it is a penalty on the defense.

our defense really stinks. We can't stop the run can't stop the pass can't tackle anyone

Other than that the D is pretty good.

The McPhee penalty cost us

That’s who we are. A guy will make a good play and that same guy will turn around and screw up. It’s one of many reason why we are such an average team.

Yeah, but it doesn't make the O line move in reaction, they just stand up and point.

LOL TV flashes that graphic "Skins haven't allowed first quarter TD in 7 games", 2 seconds before Henry runs for an easy TD.

I hadn’t realized that.  The Giants didn’t score a TD in that 34 point first half?

It's gonna be a long day for the defense if Manusky has the corners play 5 yards off the WR's.  It is going to make it too damn easy for the playaction fake and an easy 10 yard completion while the WR is running for more.   You have to play some kind of press or bump in order to disrupt the timing on those routers, otherwise it is playground pitch & catch for an NFL offense.

Screwed by the clear no call on the hold.

however, going to struggle to keep their running game under control.

Clinton Dix takes shocking angles, got the ankle tap but was a step too far inside to start with.

Jesus Christ, Clinton Dix is terrible at tackling.

It's hard to tackle when you dive at a player while looking at the ground and not what you are actually trying to tackle.

All in the second quarter.

Yeah, I don't like it.

I don’t either. I think the justification was the o line is allowed to protect themselves.

So it naturally turned into o linemen jumping just to get the call, even if it is obviously not justifiable.

Defense gets the same thing. If an o linemen flinches they jump and start pointing.

It’s like flopping in the NBA.  Just players abusing the rules. Refs don’t seem interested in doing anything about it. Occasionally you’ll see one not let it go.

Well if they stand up and point before the D-line gets back across the line.

Seems like the D gives up a score often on the first drive and also right after we score. Tennessee's offense isn't good so if the D lays an egg today it would be a bad sign.
