Posse81
I wanted to hear some opinions on good live music venues around the country. Since I have lived in the DC area for my entire life (except 4 years in Harrisonburg, VA) I have not gotten to many. I really like the 9:30 Club in DC and was wondering what good venues and shows others have seen at smaller venues around the country.
codeorama
I love seeing concerts at the NorVa in Norfolk Va. It's a very cool place, and it's smoke free. The band Chevelle just released a Live DVD that was recorded at the Norva and it's pretty cool.

codeorama
Hammerjacks was awsome... I loved that place. I saw Bruce Dickinson, the singer for Iron Maiden, perform there with his solo band and I was sitting on a bar stool about 5 feet away from him during the show... Very cool. Posse81
Kilmer- The Bayou was great. Too bad it's not around anymore. I am going to check out the Black Cat here in DC for the first time in a few weeks...

Riggo-toni
Hammerjacks was great in the 80s, and the chicks there were HOT!!!! The Wax Museum down in Georgetown was a cool place. Too bad it went under As a part time blues musician, I must lament the real decline in live music these days. I've lost sooo much work to f#$%king karaoke and DJs :puke: Even in NYC the music scene is dying out, especially the blues scene.
dchogs
the chamelon club in lancaster holds a special place in my heart. went to my first concert there (live). small, and live was playing for their home crowd. it was early in their recording career and they didn't have that "rocker" attitude yet.
