D Mccants...Still no respect

Is it me or D Mccants never get any respect.

I've been watching him. And even against starting DB or safeties.

He is getting wide open. And I really think people just dont believe he is fast enough. He's doesnt run 4.2 but did run high 4.3 and 4.4sec. With his 6-4 body he just looks slow. But the guy can fly. I dont think we can loose this guy. He could be the next Mccardell. if you all remember that. He has 700rec now..not too shabby.

McCants and McCardell have little in common except the fact they have similar last names

McCardell is a smallish but very smart player who runs great routes and has very good quickness.

McCants at 6'4 and 215 is still raw, he can be physical and win jumps down in the red zone.

If he will ever be a guy you throw at 7 or 8 times a game is still a question nearing the end of Year 3.

Slander! The Eagles WR corps is so competitive, it'd nearly be impossible for him to crack into the rotation. I mean, with all the "bet you can't guess who will drop the next pass" contests abound, us Eagles fans are on our toes. Someone who may not drop the obligatory 2-3 passes per game is therefore not properly qualified to be a member of the Eagles WR corps. He just wouldn't fit. ONLY if he loses 30 pounds, worsens his 40 time, and loses one of his hands in a schredder, would he be fit to sign with Philly.

I think McCants might actually spell the end of Rod Gardner. Jacobs, as a second round pick, will need to get more PT next season, and McCants has proven to be a solid contributor near the goalline and on third downs.

If he continues to develop, and Gardner doesn't make any progress or actually plays worse. We could see McCants or Jacobs fight it out for the starting spot.

McCants is a nice #3, #4 receiver, but he is not ready to be a starter and it's questionable as to whether he will ever be that good of a player. He's fine in the red zone but he doesn't do much else on the rest of the field. I think a lot of you guys overrate him. I'm hoping we resign Patrick Johnson and keep the receivers in tact. Let Jacobs earn his way past Johnson and McCants.

Why is this a zero sum gain? Why does one have to stay at the expense of another? Why are some of you seeing this as a mutually exclusive situation? Is it a money/cap issue? Ya know what we have? A solid WR corps. Why do we need to even THINK about the WRs? There are things we do need to fix but the WR position isn't one of them. I say keep everybody that we have. If somebody has to go it's Cliff Russel, then probably Patrick Johnson. None of us know what the deal is with Jacobs other than he got a freak injury and hasn't seen any PT. The ohter three have been solid performers. We need to put the money elsewhere, specifically the D. This will offer these guys the opportunity to be on the field more if the opposing O is continually getting "3 and outs".

I think you underrate him. He has performed well and still has upside potential. He is raw, and yet he is still performing well. Isn't that a perfect situation? Only good in the Red Zone? The next thing you're gonna tell me is that "All he does it catch Touchdowns".

I too hope we sign him for the long haul or at least the next 3-4 years.

The bottmline is: The WRs ain't broke, let's not "fix" em.

I'll take whatever shakes free....I'm pretty tired of watching those slop Eagles WRs fight over who wants to be the least impressive each week.

Freddie Mitchell caught 3 balls for 58 yards last wek and I rubbed it in somebody's face- "I told you Mitch was the best WR on the team!"

Ugh....

Fish,

I really don't know what to thing of Gardner at this point. I think he's regressed back to the Gardner that drops half the passes that come his way. He played better last week, yet I've watched this guy drop easy pass after easy pass for about a month. The only time I see McCants drop a pass is if the pass is thrown poorly or he took a massive hit while trying to catch it.

We should get rid of Gardner while his trade value is still decent and make a long-term committment to McCants.

The only thing that concerns me about McCants is his seeming inability to catch balls if he's not in the redzone. Eric Gagne is one of the greatest closers of all-time, but he probably couldn't cut it as a starter. Same thing with McCants.

I do, however, believe that's something he can work on.

Of course the future of the entire WR corps depends on Jacobs. If he has a good offseason and can step up as the third or even fourth reciever, Gardner is more than expendable.

If not, we'll have Nothing behind Coles and a relatively raw McCants.

D Mac is a keeper.

Gardner was talking about getting Coles money back in preseason and I'm sure that didnt fall on death ears.

Patrick Johnson is an UFA and may be released if Russell shows ptential which he hasnt so hopefully we resign D Mac so we have a

Coles, Jacobs, D Mac and Gardner 4 some

Gardner has played worse, and McCants would be a better and a cheaper play at WR next season...if I recall, McCants is restricted this year...what do you think it would take to resign him? 750K to a million? I think he's well worth signing, and would be a steal for less than a mill.

D-Mac is a keeper - one of the few pleasant things I remember seeing this past Sunday was McCants getting an extra 3-5 yards with a Cowboy defender riding his back.

Get rid of Gardner... hes a "faggot"

Sorry, but McCants doesn't have 700 yards in his carrer, he only has 306. So where you got 700 from, I have no idea. When he dose got 700 yards, then we can talk about him taking Gardners place.
