REDSKINS SELECT ADONIS ALEXANDER IN SIXTH ROUND OF SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT, WAIVE SAM IRWIN-HILL

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins selected cornerback Adonis Alexander in the sixth round of the 2018 Supplemental Draft, held earlier this afternoon, and waived punter Sam Irwin-Hill.

The Redskins used their sixth-round choice in the 2019 NFL Draft to pick the 6-foot-3, 197-pound Alexander, making him the first player drafted in the supplemental draft since the organization selected Jeremy Jarmon out of the University of Kentucky in 2009.

Alexander appeared in 34 games in which he played at Virginia Tech. In three seasons, he collected 91 tackles (56 solo), 17 passes defensed, seven interceptions, a sack and forced fumble.

In 2017, Alexander appeared in nine games in which he played registering 27 tackles (23 solo) a sack, a forced fumble and one interception. He recorded a season high nine tackles versus West Virginia.

Alexander was born on Nov. 7, 1996, and attended Independence High School in Charlotte, N.C.
