SCOTUS: No longer content with stacking, they're now dealing from the bottom of the deck

Quite frankly the GOP hasn't been shy about a court litmus test since 2016.  It is pathetic that they aren't getting nailed on it, but they are breaking judicial norms.

Merrick Garland is qualified to be on the  Supreme Court and Amy Barrett meets the same qualifications. I know that it seems like this litmus stuff has started at the lower level with Bush appointees....

It is also ironic that the "conservative" political party is now openly running a scheme to put their judicial activists in the Federal Courts.

Let's just remember that 50 years ago the GOP hated Miranda as much as they hate Roe v. Wade...

Nauseating display of politics. Pathetic really.

100% pointless hearings other then each side gets to say whatever they want.

When do we get a Do Your Job political party?

I think ACB is qualified on paper. That said, what's nauseating about asking her detailed questions on how she will overturn precedent since she has a history of it?

D will vote no and R will vote yes.

These confirmation hearings are political theatre.

As soon as we vote out the GOP members of Congress and we get there, in small part, by getting there Dems talking about the real world implications of ACB joining the SC.

RBG was confirmed 96-3. Roberts 78-22.

Only the dumbass Federalist Society approved ones really have a problem getting solid confirmation.

For the record, the Federalist Society judges are Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, ACB, and Thomas.

Back when Skippy was invoking fictional rules that lame duck Presidents weren't allowed to fill SCOTUS vacancies, I pointed out:

The last time a lame duck President with an opposition party Senate nominated a SCOTUS pick within a year of the election:

1) The President was Reagan

2)  The Senate was Dem.

3)  And he was confirmed, two months later, 93-0.

Just more proof, everything the Republicans accuse the Democrats of being, the Republicans actually are.

Yep.  Turns out Amy Barrett Coney is just as hypocritical as her Senate supporters Graham, McConnell, Cruz, et.al.

I do hope a Senator plays this clip back and asks her to explain her hypocrisy.
