Zen-like Todd
But I guess that's because he didn't play today. Two straight games with Brandon Winey starting at LT, and he's held up pretty damn well so far. He's pretty cheap, too.
aREDSKIN
Is Samuels sweating now?? Too bad Ware # 48 can't block. We seem to have an inordinate number of those.
Cskin
I agree, the kid played well again this week. I've got to think the F.O. is starting to feel as if they've got a pretty good OT backup in Winey. Also, don't forget that Samuels has been helping Winey out tremendously in technique and in the film room. My question is, if Samuels is helping out so much coaching Winey "up", why doesn't Samuels play better when he's in the game? Humm......... Personally, I think all of the credit should go to Helton for "coachin' him up"
Ignatius J.
Make no mistake, Helton absolutely deserves credit for this, however, there are still enough miscues on the part of the o-line that we could stand to improve IF we can get someone good. Turnover for the sake of turnover may be unwarranted. There were a few instances when winey was beaten where samuels probably would not have been, but still, it is nice to see that we are not going to sh!t despite being forced to rely on our backups for 3/5 of our line. Again, this speaks poorly of our starters and well of our staff, so considerations may be in order..... I'm glad it is not my job to make any decisions on this front. -DB
Prosperity
this whole situation is frightening, I mean for all these years we thought Chris Samuels was good but here comes a nobody that actually does a BETTER job (not just good enough) Not to mention the huge contract Samuels has in the coming years. riggins44
I think with a quality QL coach (like Grimm) you would see the quality of Samuels play increase. Same for entire OL.
Dr. D
WIney does not credit Kim helton...... he does in fact credit SAMUELS for helping him. So we could fire helton and hire Samuels for a fraction of his huge salary next year(as a coach)
