You thought 'they don't get paid much, so who cares if they're treated like sex slaves?' would come across as insensitive? How so?

You live a very sheltered life if you think this some big ass deal..these girls flaunt there **** for every person to see on game day, yet it's a big deal that they get asked to dress sleazy to entertain some rich guy..If they don't want to do it than don't..whats the worst thing that is gonna happen to them? Get fired? OMG what would they do then?GTFO out with your sensitive ass..

they said that Snyder would ask for outtakes from the video footage of these cheerleader trips, and that there was indeed nudity.

The ficus plant in Synder's office must be absolutely disgusting.

Did you read the article? Taking their passports is normal? Having spectators at a topless photoshoot is normal? Having them work 14 hour days with no pay and then be forced to escort a rich man to a club is normal? Ok they quit...but now how do they get home? They don't have their passport. Its intimidation tactics to force them into situations they otherwise might not be a part of and it is despicable.

Newsflash guy....it isnt normal and if you can rationalize this just to root for a football team, then i don't really know what else to tell you besides you are just flat out wrong.

Some harsh stuff below.  Obviously I have no clue what happened but if women were coerced to take their cloths off to entertain potential clients -- then yeah I don't think its out of the possibility Dan could be pushed to sell or at least be suspended.   Steinbrenner was suspended for years for paying someone to dig up dirt on one of his players.  This has to be as egregious if not more.  Question is did it go on purely from people overseeing this with no involvement from higher ups?

We need to take a step back for a moment and really digest the accusations against Washington. If they are true, an NFL team was engaged in a form of human trafficking. We all just need to really take that in.

Washington dedicated its week 1 game last September to "ending human trafficking." I'm completely serious.

As I said before, yeah - we get it, Cheerleaders are there for eye candy.

This is about more than that.  If you can’t see the slimy part of it, I don’t know what to tell you.

Yeah so easy. Just quit....in costa rica with no passport and no place to stay or flight back?

Seriously, just stop it. Nothing about this is funny.

Disgusting. A lame few sentences as a response shows how poorly run the front office and organization can sometimes be.

Nothing short of Snyder having a presser, taking questions (not from Doc Walker or Larry), and likely the removal of a number of people is going to even start to address this.

This is so ridiculously ignorant it’s hard to comprehend. You clearly do not have an understanding of this situation and should probably see yourself out of this thread before you continue to make an ass out of yourself

The option of quitting does not make it OK for an employer to harass employees.  Likewise cheerleader uniforms being somewhat revealing does not remove an employers responsibility to not harass employees.  This has nothing to do with being sensitive, this is beginner level decency and professionalism.

People steal all the time, bit murder is worse, so just let the thieves go.

If this story makes no difference to you, please just leave or shut up. Your arguments are shallow and ignorant.

Let me spell this out ofr you since you choose to take the neanderthal approach.

They are cheerleaders and do a photo shoot for the team together every year. This year they say we are going to Costa Rico! Just the team to a secluded resort! Are you in?

Once they get there, their passports are taken from them. If you do not see how that in imprisonment then you do not get out much. Once you get out of the US, without your passport there is nothing that can be done for you if the local police want to harrass you. Even if you have it, things can get dicey.

This is the key part since you don't seem to understand - They can't leave without their passports and if they do not have enough money they could be stranded in Costa Rico! With no way back they can be arrested by local police for being a vagrant!!  Most of these girls do not make hardly any money for the team or otherwise. Many are in college! So they are in fact imprisoned!

From thier it's easy to intimidate them into doing everything that is "suggested" for fear of not getting home.

Just so we're 100% clear, when I don't respond to you again, it's because I have no use for misogynistic clods who respond to sexual harassment with thoughts like "if you don't like it, quit".

I sincerely hope your cavemen brain is able to grasp that.

Unless Luca Brasi has a gun to her head and literally forces her to do it, dear old dad here is just gonna blame her for not quitting. Because that’s how power dynamics of wealthy people within multi billion dollar companies and low paid employees work. Yep.

You just keep digging this thing deeper. So if other people get their heads chopped off then I guess I should not complain if I "only" get my hands chopped off!! Seriously lame!!!

Did I read it right; this happened 5 years ago?

Now, before everyone sharpens their pitchforks, try to emotionally dis-connect yourself from the team and from the NFL for a moment, and do some rational thinking.

If this did in fact happen, and if it did in fact humiliate any cheerleaders, I feel for them; I cannot begin to put myself in their shoes to measure the type and magnitude of the raw emotion and feelings they have, I can only stand as a man who believes in treating everyone with dignity and respect and say any form of act like that is appalling and disgraceful, and any of the people involved with manipulating these women should come out and publicly apologize and face the punishment.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves before ALL of the facts come out. Today's social media is vindictive and sinister, where ANY accused person is automatically met with guilty verdicts and death threats. Sorry, this is my personal feeling towards this 'accusation', and for some reason it just doesn't pass the smell test.

Why?

Because until absolute proof comes out, myself, nor anyone else, can judge a person. I'm not saying there isn't proof, but today's society is burn the accused first then ask questions. 5 years is a long time, and if this is true, and these women who are making the accusations were truly violated in any way, common sense would tell me something should have been said back then, not 5 years down the road.

So, please, before throwing your daggers in my direction, I am only laying out some form of line of framework to ponder, and I'm saying this because I personally know of 2 people [ friends ] who were falsely accused of an act and it completely destroyed 2 marriages, and later turned out to be extreme exaggerations and fabrications, which turned out to be money-related.

That’s just not how harassment, rape or anything similar works in reality for about a hundred different reasons
