Wildbunny
Welcome to the team young man! Have fun tackling ! SHAUN DION HAMILTON ILB Alabama Height: 6' 0" Weight: 228 lbs Arms: 31" Hands: 10 1/4" Prospect Grade 5.04 Better-than-Average Chance to Make NFL Roster Bench Press 20 Reps https://www.nfl.com/prospects/shaun dion-hamilton?id=32462018-0002-5600-07bf-34f3d8e28f9c Quote Player Bio Hamilton combined with Reuben Foster to form one of the best inside linebacker duos in the country in 2016, at least until he tore his right ACL in the SEC Championship Game. In the first 13 games of the year, Hamilton had 64 stops, nine for loss, two sacks, and two interceptions; he was a downhill player and showed the coverage ability NFL teams need today. Hamilton started the first nine games of his senior season before another injury (fractured right kneecap) sidelined him for the rest of the Tide's playoff run (40 tackles, 5.5 for loss, 2.5 sacks). He started five times as a sophomore in 2015, playing in every game of the team's national championship run (27 tackles, 1.5 for loss). The Alabama native was a top 10 inside linebacker prospect coming out of high school and played in all 14 games on special teams as a true freshman (three tackles). Hamilton graduated a semester early from high school and was also his class' valedictorian. Overview Technically sound and tough, Hamilton is a 3-4 inside linebacker with good football intelligence who is almost always where he is supposed to be. As with all Alabama linebackers, he has benefitted from big, talented linemen in front of him to occupy blocks and will be forced to do more of the heavy lifting on the next level. Consecutive season-ending knee injuries will likely hurt his draft stock -- especially considering the fact that he may not be able to run or workout for teams before this year's draft. Strengths Good lower body thickness Plays the game with demeanor and toughness of a bigger linebacker Always finding his run fits Very smart and called the "brains behind the operation" on the field Won't give up his gap control willingly Plays square and will stick a strong shoulder into blocks to squeeze his gap Technically sound Meets climbing blockers with a sunken anchor and a stiff punch Nice, easy hips allow for smooth drops into coverage Quick to recognize and react to play-action and screens Able to weave around blockers without losing sight of the ball ** Click on the link for more **

dyst
This guys tape looks good. Seems like he has some major burst right before contact. Small for a linebacker and has had injuries but hope he stays healthy and contributes on special teams this year as he tries to work his way up. Did you know that Red Tide is toxic to humans, kills fish, evacuates beaches, and is considered by many to be a revolting sight ?
clskinsfan
Could end up the second best steal of the draft after Guice. Skins must have been comfortable with his knees. Dude is a playmaker though when he actually plays.
Koolblue13
Well, I did say I wanted 2 Bama defenders again.

COWBOY-KILLA-
Seems to have a+ play recognition, great covering backs and dropping into coverage. Sure tackler even though he is undersized. Nice pick up by the Skins. Should excel on special teams with a chance to play down the line at LB..

Koolblue13
Small LBers get washed out too easily if you don't have a big powerful line. We have a very big powerful line.
Peregrine
So basically we are making a bet against the knees. Im not opposed to that with a late round pick, most get cut anyway. If his knees continue to be an issue he gets cut, and if not, we end up with a top tier talent that probably would have been in the first 3 rounds without the injuries. Even if he has to get stashed on IR for the year, like the Jags did with Jack, this guy has the ceiling of a high level starter. Great pick. Dude is a playmaker though when he actually plays. More than that he was the coach on the field for that 'Bama defense. He called the signals and made the adjustments - really really high football IQ. Really good player BUT not sure he holds up physically.

London Fletcher was short (5’ 10”). But he was also around 240. Thats not small.

Well it’s short for an NFL middle linebacker but exactly average for a US male. It’s all relative :-)
