The Wicked Wop
Jansen looked especially good on his back....If I were Spurrier I would go right after the game and say well we need to run the ball better, but our right tackle keeps getting beat. Ignatius J.
That play mademe sick. After Jansen comes out and complains about the playcalling, to see that kind of play just turns my stomach. As far as I am concerned, spurrier's playcalling is totally vindicated. He said he trusts his recievers and QB. I wouldn't trust the run blocking either. -DB

Still doesn't erase the fact that we ran the ball well all game last week and then abandoned it when we needed it most. Spurrier ran the ball today largely because of the weather conditions. And our guys ran just well enough to keep the Giants honest, which is all you can ask for. Let's hope he incorporates that strategy into games even in better weather... DeathByLinebacker
Again, one of those plays last week was a Hasselbeck audible from a run.

JerseyGator
The Giants long-time radio announcer mid-way thru the third quarter was saying Strahan was having his way with Jansen. Like I said before, just shut your mouth and do your job Jansen. This team has enough whiners. Spurrier will have his days when he is too stubborn with the pass. But he backs off soon enough from what I've seen over ten plus years. I'm sure recievers were open against the Saints.

I started that last sunday and its still right. LAST WEEK.....we threw on 3rd and short many times over without trying the run. Its not going to work 100% on the ground.....but you run it enough and the D knows it could go either way. Run or Pass. Nice Blowup post.
SonnyJ
Don't see what was so dumb about WW's post. Pretty much my feelings exactly when that play occurred. When you call out the coaching staff in the press for not running, and then you they call your number on a third and short play, you better make that play work. You just look like a fool when you get totally manhandled and the guy you're assigned to stuffs the play. I like Jansen, but it's just further proof that he should just shut his yap and do his job. And I'm pretty sure Spurrier tried to run on third and short last week and got stuffed then, too. Not to mention getting no push on the goal line this week. Not a solid case for a smashmouth approach, if you ask me.
