Some more Bailey Bashing!!

Ability is not everything. As we have seen this year and last year and the year before that, Dan Snyder gets quality atheletes. So what is the problem? Leadership and Discipline. Can you name any other player in recent redskins history with more leadership discipline and character than Darrell Greene. This comparison is not absurd because of the age difference between the two players. This comparison is absurd because you are a well round upstanding member of a washington community to a player who doesnt care where he plays as long as the paycheck is big enough. Champ is a great player but he has few other leadership qualities, and no allegiance to washington. Darrell left football not because he was too old but because he wants to continue to be an upstanding member of the washington community. We miss you Darrell.

Two first rounders will cost more than Champ... And for you that say we have lost with Champ and we can loose without him,,,, Well you can say that about Lavar and Jansen and Samules and Smoot and need I go on?

Get off Champ and focus on the real problems this team has no pass rush and no leadership

This is exactly what is wrong with this organization. It believes the hype placed on players of the team, an OPINION instead of tangible evidence on the field.

Regardless of Champ's injuries, he has been exposed for what he truly is as a DB. Great athleticism and physical talent, but a lack of awareness that leads to opposing receivers baiting him into mistakes that cost the team BIG. He's been abused on double moves this year, from Toomer to Horn... and the same can be said last year with Galloway...Toomer... and others.

The F.O. needs to stop reading the press clippings and look at the game tape, Champ Bailey is a superior athlete that lacks the intangibles (awareness... heart to make a big play) to be a true elite corner. If nothing else his hands have been exposed... he rarely catches the football eventhough it hits him in the hands. Heck... he couldn't hold on to punts or reverses last year!!!! The money proposed for his salary/bonus could be better served upgrading the DL. Additionally, giving HALF of his money to a FA CB like Antione Winfield might go along way towards putting the Redskins in position to contend for the Super Bowl title.

WHomever said something about Jimoh... is right. The kid is green as grass but scouts love his measureables and think he could be a solid corner in this league. He needs to get on the field more... if nothing else than to gain experience in what NOT to do from the CB position. Sit Champ, tell him it's to prevent him from being injured while in the midst of salary negotiations.

This is a solid post. Good job Cskin.:applause:

Champ is the best cover corner in the NFL. The problem is he has lower than average ball skills. On many of his bad plays, he's right with the receiver, he just can't find the ball. This makes him a very good corner but not a game-changer. He's asking for game-changer type money and it's just not worth for the team to spend that many cap dollars on him.

I said it before, we lost with Champ and we can lose without him.

:rotflmao:

OMG :rotflmao:

Like someone else said though no 1 rookie lineman is going to come in here and dominate for the next three years. We need all the help we can get in the secondary. If we didnt have Champ right now we would be losing games by 30pts everyweek with our passrush and linebackers overpursueing Champ has helped in the run and came up and made some tackles. Granted his attitude is Sh!##y right now but we are losing. Winning cures everything all of our speculation on who is a locker room problem. How much did Bucs fans cry last year superbowl week about keyshaun sucks. Fact is now they are short maybe the best possesion reciever in the league and they are on the downward spiral we were in a few weeks ago ( its over Spurrier isnt drunk at the press confrenses anymore, he is learning to lose.)

I am trying to look at this as Champ is only one man. We need more than one man on this defense.

Now this will probably be seen as blasphemy from a die hard fan but even Arrington is expendable. In my mind he does not destroy opponents like LT, Ray Lewis, Mike Singletary, Derrick Brooks. All he does is provide good sound bites. He does not take over games like the great ones do.

I know about the defensive line and how they suck but I just think some of the great players adapt and overcome the obstacles to become winners

I think that people forget that he has been hurt all year. Just becasue he's not saying anything about it doesn't mean that it's not bothering him. Smoot struggled last year, and now everyone is sucking his d!ck. I think Champ should stay, and if there is a way to resign him, we need to. $20 mil. is a lot, though, and I'm sure he'll be designated the franchise player. when Champ is healthy, he's the man...I don't think Smoot can be a #1 corner, although I love the way he is playing this year.
