Are you feeling Jevon Kearse

I love Javon but I'm not sure if that's the way we want to solve the DE problem either.

I'd say no to Wistrom just because of this......

I think Grant's production has been so-so. I don't see him as any solution.

We need to draw the line and draft some DE help for a change rather than going the free agent route. It will be a lot less expensive and better for the team in the long run.

Where was Kearse picked? Second Round? Third Round? My point is he ain't been making much considering his productivity. The guy is out for a monster deal. He may just get it from the Titans, but I'm hoping that Danny will steer clear and go for a lesser FA DE, focus more for a FA DT and draft, draft draft heavy on the DE.

Kearse was the 16th pick in the first round the year he came out and my response to the question is, NO!

His production went down each year since his rookie year and that's only counting his first three years when he played 16 games. Granted, any of those first three years would be head and shoulders over what we have at DE but his past two years have been injury plagued and I can't see taking that big a risk on him for the money his asking.

Double NO on Winstrom.

No Kearse because he's injured all the time. No Wistrom because he's primarily a run stopper. We need to draft a difference maker in the 1st round. Whether it is a DE, DT, or S, we need to pull the trigger and finally draft for the D. And for heaven's sake, get a damn punter in the last round, not some QB who doesn't have a chance to play at all.

I'd pass on Kearse as he wants big money & he is injury prone, not a good combo.

I would consider Wistrom, he has a non-stop motor & is productive, but once again he'll want a nice sized contract.

If we are looking at upgrading the DE spot, our only option may be to sign a FA. It is nice & all to say to draft a stud DE, but its like getting blood from a rock, there are no stud DEs in the draft. Maybe we luck out on a guy, but most of the top prospects will not be big sack guys in the pros.

First off Jevon Kearse "isn't injured all the time." He's missed one season in 5 and had double-digit sacks in 4 out of 5 seasons. Assuming he doesn't demand a monster contract, we would be lucky to land him at the age of 27.

There are no difference makers in the 2004 1st round on defense at DE or DT, the only possible exception being FS Sean Taylor of Miami. And some are predicting that Taylor is more suited to play SS rather than FS, which would limit has playmaking ability in the NFL. The reason being that SS in the NFL frequently covers the TE and does not come up with that many interceptions as the FS.

I think we are going to have to gamble on Kearse, because we are not going to get any immediate pass-rushing help in the draft.

Grant Wistrom has only had 1 double-digit sack season in 6. He's a good player but he is not going to give us much of a pass rush if he is being double-teamed all the time. :)

i'd take his injury prone 12-14 game seasons.. because it equals at least 12 sacks I think our whole team doesn't have that many combined

he has 9.5 sacks in 10 games this year... you'd be crazy not to take that

injury prone? His first 3 years he missed no games

he was hurt last year with a broken leg, and has played in 10 of 12 games this year... you do the math
