AJWatson3
Whispers from around the league: "Redskins WR Taylor Jacobs could soon pass Patrick Johnson on the depth chart. The team loves Jacobs' work ethic and thinks he eventually could settle in as the team's No. 3 receiver. " P. Johnson has been playing well, but i would like to see Jacobs get some more PT, for the evaluating process...
Hog Fever
That's good to see. I'd say he was right where he should be as a rookie on a team with two established WRs. The early season injuries set him back a bit but he's on track now.
bulldog
Jacobs was drafted #2. He was a high profile selection and the organization is under pressure to show it didn't blow the pick. Expect Jacobs to get a lot of time the next 4 weeks to show what he can do. Patrick Johnson is a nice story and would be a better one on a team that was contending for a playoff spot. He does a lot of things well, including ST coverage. But he is not at 29 going to turn into a 80 catch playmaker, something the Ole Ball Coach still thinks Jacobs is capable of. We shall see. Riggo-toni
I for one hope we re-sign all our WRs and bring them back next year. Passing PJ makes Jacobs #4, not #3 (McCants is our #3, though i guess since he's injured at the moment you could argue PJ and Jacobs are fighting for the #3 spot...) Griff
I sure hope he steps up, I would hate to have wasted that pick.
SkinsNumberOne
I have this feeling he's got skills, but I'm worried he may be a bit undersized and injury prone. Hope not.
Phat Hog
Surprised no mention of “Mr. Touchdown” D-Mac. Either way, Jacobs should get more playing time to see just what we got for our first pick.
Hitman56
D-Mac is the Man. He should be our #2.

bulldog
Patrick Johnson passed McCants as the #3 receiver, at least that is what I have seen ON the field the past 3 weeks when the team went to a spread package. I have seen less and less of McCants as the season has progressed.

OURYEAR#56
Good move Danny. Now we have leverage when we have to resign Rod Gardner. I like Jacobs. See I told yall Dan know how to run a business, and Spurriers is going to makes us look goooood. Patients is a virtue. Hell we've been loosing this long. Awesome
If Jacobs proves himself over the next four games, that could make the trade Gardner scenario a bit more realistic. Neither Johnson nor McCants really have the skills to be a solid #2 across from Coles and but it seems that Spurrier thinks that Jacobs does. I like Gardner, but with the needs on defense, plus the amount of talent at receiver, if the team could get good value for him in a trade it could be a viable option this offseason. earl
Trade Rod Gardner, and promote D-Mac and Jacobs! true that!!! especially if jacobs shows sparks of life. coles, mccants and jacobs is solid. I know we need a d-line, but we can draft that. i say trade: Gardner and Candidate for Travis Henry
