Election 2018 Thread (An Adult Finally Has the Gavel)

Ted Cruz sounds like an old man from the 1950s complaining about those kids with long hair who stay up past 10 pm and go to jazz clubs or *clutches pearls* listen to ROCK AND ROLL. If that's going to be his go-to shtick in 2018 he's going to just be making himself look like more of an out of touch idiot than he already has.

Republicans and associated apparatchik having to dump a ton of resources into Texas to save Cruz's bacon is a very good thing, even if Beto doesn't end up winning.

Exactly. Having so many seats in a legit contested state means they have to spend money where they normally wouldn't think they need to. They basically have to pick their poison when it comes to allocating resources.

Which leads directly to this:  https://www.politico.com/story/2018/08/31/republicans-midterms-congress-vulnerable-lawmakers-gop-805496

Quote

With a massive field of vulnerable House incumbents to defend and limited resources to go around, Republicans are readying for a painful round of political triage — deciding which lawmakers are worth trying to rescue, and which ones need to be cut loose to fend for themselves in November.

GOP officials say as many as 45 Republican-held seats are at serious risk, making it impossible to salvage each one in the costly scramble to protect the party’s 23-seat majority— especially those members who have waged sluggish campaigns and posted lackluster fundraising totals.

...

“It’s personally upsetting to me,” said Kilberg, a Comstock friend and financial backer. “The fact that CLF has not supported Barbara — and has not indicated they will do so — I find very disappointing.”

lmao...you know at the wh pressers these days how they distract at the beginning with some lame ass presentation that wouldn't fly in high school to use up the time and cut down on answering all the burning questions that are always piled up---well today's dog an pony show for the 1st white house presser in 19 days is how fraudulent "obama's claims" are that the economy began it's recovery under his admin and continued in increasingly improving to the end of his term

and yes indeed it has also been significantly, additionally, sparked from some of trumps moves, directly

but the pitch has to be "obama = disaster, trump = savior"

So Beto has allegedly been Beto since childhood (nickname for Robert given to him by family friends) and Ted changed from Felito to whiten his name...strange times indeed.

I suspect Beto has better things ahead of him than being just a Senator.

Ted made the right move. For someone so unlikable it would only be a matter of time before he was referred to as Fellatio Cruz

I feel like these pre-question statements and presentations are, most of the time, very specific directives from/by Trump and hence essentially tell us his current state of mind regarding what his brain is seething over at the moment. So despite claiming that he "fell asleep" during Obama's tongue lashing, I think it's safe to say he heard every word of it (probably multiple times) and is heated about it.

Good.

it's interesting to watch sarah run on and on just shooting down every possible thing related to bob woodward---just a long over-the-top denunciation of everything the guy has done lol---and know no one believes a single word she's saying even if some are true, except for the actual disciples

Would kinda like to see their explanation of why that's not true.

But I assume that twa will be doling it one in one-line posts over the next few months/years.

If they hold true to their S.O.P. they won't actually explain it or provide anything to back it up; they'll just state it as unassailable truth and move on.
