If it's true these things typically are never an isolated incident. I'd imagine the flood gates will open.

Four separate women have come forward.  It's not the Johnstown Flood, but it's a flood.

It is possible that the allegations are not true, but let's be honest. It's really, really unlikely the Washington Post goes forward with something like this unless they are very certain of their sources.

They have four separate women, who don't know each other, plus 30 sources on record. Plus in the era of Republican's screaming "FAKE NEWS!!!", I'm sure WaPo made sure the story is tight before running it.

Hopefully we aren't so far off the cliff that political party plays a role in how we view allegations of pedophilia.  I still have that much faith in people.  Let's hope I'm not proven wrong.:(

14 years old. That’s so messed up. My daughter is 13.

He not only should be arrested, he should have his ass kicked on a regular basis from here on out...

of course due process and all... but with all that’s going on now, I really think ass kicking is the way to go.

i mean Weinstein, spacey, all the political pervs in DC, the senate and congress... its a big list.

Its disgusting and he needs to goto jail, let alone step down.

This stood out to me tho:

Quote

Corfman, 53, who works as a customer service representative at a payday loan business, says she has voted for Republicans in the past three presidential elections, including for Donald Trump in 2016."

I just can't wrap my head around that.

yeah stepping aside should be the very least of his troubles moving forward

From the WP article:

In Alabama, the statute of limitations for bringing felony charges involving sexual abuse of a minor in 1979 would have run out three years later, and the time frame for filing a civil complaint would have ended when the alleged victim turned 21, according to Child USA, a nonprofit research and advocacy group at the University of Pennsylvania.

Oh, how courageous of these GOP members. I want reporters to start asking why Roy Moore has to step aside but it's okay, given the multiple allegations and the audio of Trump admitting he sexually assaulted women, that Trump remains as POTUS? I doubt a reporter will step up, but every member of the GOP should have to put on record that they believe sexual assault is okay so long as it doesn't involve a minor. That's really what is taking place today inside the GOP.

This, exactly, was the first thought as well. And why I say people are giving them too much credit. If they could get away with not caring I promise you even the females in the group would.

never mind the fact that this is probably 6th or 7th thing that Roy Moore has done, 'allegedly", that he should "step aside" over

Considering the passage of time, the only official body capable of investigation at this point is probably the Alabama state bar.  Whether they have the appetite to get involved is an entirely different matter.

I read the article. They had contemporaneous statements from her friends in 1979 and found four other women with similar stories. All that would probably be admissible in court if this was Washington Post v. Roy Moore (unless Moore was the judge because the Bible does not cite the Federal Rules of Evidence).

My guess is that now more women will be coming with stories.

Also, do NOT go to Free Republic right now. You will not feel good about humanity.

Oh, there's people who could intervene.

For example, the US Senate could just decide not to seat him.  The Constitution gives Congress the authority to determine their own membership.

There's no way they will.  If he wins, they will mumble pious things about "the will of the people".  But they have the authority.

Now is not the time to talk about Roy Moore being a pediphile. Now is the time for prayers.  Quite frankly, I think it's disgusting that the Democrats are going to politicize this.

Moore's behavior is terrible, so is anyone trying to defend it, or make believe it's not bad.  But not far behind are people happy about it because he happens to be a member of the party that they don't like.

Who is happy about it?
