General Mass Shooting Thread (originally Las Vegas Strip)

Another ****ing shooting..... What    the    ****     is wrong with this country. (actually that's an impulsive question)

Can't even go 1 night without a mass shooting?

I suppose we'll just sit around with our thumbs up our asses; too busy arguing with Russian bots about abortion or something about Obama.

Can't sites like 4chan and 8chan be labeled terrorist sites and be shut down?  If these white supremacists are being radicalized by going to these sites, that's proof enough.

Honestly, the FBI needs to do a much better job of identifying these people before they start shooting.  Aren't they monitoring these websites?  When did the El Paso shooter publish his manifesto?  The FBI seems to be busy fighting Antifa (who I think have a murder count of 0) rather than tackle the real threat.  How diverse is the FBI?

They do monitor these types of sites, but its not easy to sort through everything or find people across the country through their internet posts. If you're in the right place on 8 chan or whatever site, most/all the content is violent hate speech or extremely offensive ****. (obviously if they're shut down they'll just go somewhere else)

The shooters are also young with no criminal records which makes it harder to find them.

In the FBI’s (and law enforcement in general) defense, I don’t think they can know who is really posting what on websites where people can hide behind anonymity. Also, I’m sure there’s millions of disgusting, but ultimately harmless things being posted on the web every day, so sifting through everything to find the real threats to focus resources on in time to actually stop something before it happens is not an easy task.

I never said I was enlightened or think I'm better than anybody.  So I can't believe that both the dems and republican parties suck as far as the presidential candidates are concerned?  I thought they sucked in 2016 race and think it's even worse now, how does that make me an entitled centrist?

He was offering an analysis of your position, not restating something you said. Then, in your final sentence you sort of did the same thing with your Freudian slip. 😂 😂😂

Got people in power pushing the MS-13, ISIS, etc. narratives, when the bigger issue is the domestic terror cells (white nationalism) we have right here in our own country.

L.E. has to some degree been infiltrated by white supremacists. So, don’t expect any help from them. This is exactly how the paragons of racial justice in the Grand Old Bigots Party, especially Tя☭mp want things.

what’s the over/under on the ammount of mass shooting deaths we need to average per day to get enough republicans on board with an assault weapons ban?

Young kids got shot in a school and killed and congress did nothing.

Even congressional lawmakers were shot at a baseball practice and nothing was done.

I just don't understand why this problem isn't fixed yet.

They would have to lose money for anything to change in a meaningful way. The minute we figure out to to make Republicans more money on gun safety or reform or whatever it needs to be, they will come to the table. We just need to pay them for their services.

Holy ****, I don't even know how many people would need to die daily by assault weapons before they'd consider a ban. Hell, people die EVERY FREAKING DAY. In 2017 13,000 were shot and killed, this does NOT count suicides. Most of these are by handguns, so 35 people per day wasn't enough to start talking about handguns.

You'd literally (and I mean literally) need the families of elected officials to be involved in these mass murders either as the shooters or victims..... and it would need to happen a handful of times before they might budge.

Exactly. They fired at a congressional baseball practice and even the lawmakers couldn't be motivated to make ANY changes. SMH.

trump is all about distraction and division, rather than any real action on anything meaningful that is beneficial to Americans.

Dude, during Obama there were 30+ mass killings.  Of course it was less in 1992, that's never been my point.  My point is both parties suck ass right now.  And if I'm being perfectly honest, the current dems suck donkey dick, there is no way in hell I'd vote for any of those socialism pricks.  And Bernie, he's the biggest ****ing joke of them all.

Most likely, I'll either not vote or vote for the best 3rd party candidate.  On a side note, you know I love you bro, RTT represent!

In this case, no you don't get to think both parties suck (or are the same) on the subject of gun control. One would act and is trying to. One does not. Not on mental health issues, gun issues, or anything related to the violence other than to egg it on by instigating more otherism and hate.

It's not as hard as it may appear on the surface if someone is really trying, like the government.

Think about it, this site alone keeps track of the last couple locations you've logged in from, you can see it in your profile, mine goes back to May and gives the zip code and date.  If people aren't careful about what they say, they give clues to help build a profile, that's how big data works, not to mention whatever other data is saved in the website's database backend for each particular login, such as IP and time.

If you used the same process to find one of these bammas as you did to find a hacker, it'd be far less then impossible.
