Tom [Giants fan]
I just read on KFFL that if Ramsey can tolerate the pain, he will likely start this week against the Giants. What is the point of risking him to further and more serious injury? It isn't like the Skins are playing for a playoff or division title spot. Plus, I wanted to start Hasselbeck this week vs. the injury depleted Giants secondary. Ok, purely selfish reasons. But a good point to boot. redman
I don't get it either Tom, especially given that he's already had to change his throwing motion and may well need surgery on it anyway. At this point I'm in favor of having him undergo the surgery now and getting an early start on rehab.
TK
It's been mentioned on 980 as well. They said he will try to practice on Wednesday.
SkinInsite
Well Ramsey does need to play in more games, I mean even Vick is being rushed back.

Hitman56
The Skins would like to see if Winey can block Strahan, and if he can't, they would like Ramsey to take the punishment. I don't think he has a knee injury yet.
ThatGuy
Stahan goes against Jansen 95% of the plays
StevieInferior
Actually the Doctors have told him that there he is not risking doing any further structural damage to the foot if he plays on it. Its only a question of him tolerating the pain
rayprils
Anyone of you guys ever read Pat's contract. The more he plays the more money he makes. That's why he wants to play. Check out his contract.
bubba9497
Ramsey can not risk further injury of his foot playing, if he is able to play he needs to get all the reps he can this year.
StevieInferior
If he participates in 70% of the offensive snaps he gets a $2.5 millon escalator. I think even if he didn't play in the remaining games, he has already cemented the escalator.
Tom [Giants fan]
If he needs surgery on the foot, I agree with redman that he should do it now and start the heeling process. I care, I really do. Now, back to Hasselbeck being the starter for the rest of year. Wait, in all seriousness, is Ramsey trying to be the next McNair? Hey, he is tough but is it really going to make a difference if he plays the rest of this year? Especially if he is limited and can't play the way he wants too? Isn't he altering his footwork because of the injury? This may just develop bad habits. Hey, it could happen. Oh, btw, I went over 3000 posts without even realizing it. The Giants have me living life in a fog.
bulldog
the 2003 season is over from a competitive standpoint vis a vis the playoffs, so the only reason to play Ramsey or any other younger player is to help them get a head start on 2004 and gain experience. however, if Ramsey is facing an uncertain timetable and the foot surgery is all but admittedly necessary, then he is only setting himself back by delaying the procedure while he attempts to get on the field for a 4-8 team with two rookies starting on the OL. He should go in and have the procedure done NOW and start his recovery. Hasselbeck has played well enough to warrant a look for the last 4 games. Tim has far exceeded what anyone could have expected of a WCO qb who came in here 5 weeks ago. I think we have found a credible #2 for the future and starting him the next 4 games in my mind is NOT costing the team much in the area of competitiveness. bubba9497
I do not believe the rehab time involved for Ramsey after the surgery is long enough to prevent him from attending the start of mini camps. Spurrier said Ramsey wants to play, but it will be up to the doctors, if there is any question about his abilty to play or could risk further injury he will not play. @DCGoldPants
because he's Patrick Ramsey. He wants to be the leader of the offense and thinks that playing banged up, as long as he isn't costing the team a win....its worth the pain. Either way, he knows that he's here longer than Spurrier will be. He wants to get those snaps in now.
Sarge
I would rather save him in case hasslebeck gets creamed.
Symbol
How's this for a good reason for Ramsey to start if he feels he can... He's the #1 QB on the roster. Timmay is #2 and Hamsandwich is #3. They send a message saying there is no contraversy.
BCS:BraveCaringSoul
Spurrier's trying to turn Ramsey into the modern day equivalent of El Cid. Ramsey is wheeled out of the training room and onto the field after coming back from yet another injury.
Cskin
If there is no risk of further injury, and he can take the pain, why not play. He needs every snap he can get, to see every defensive front and coverage he can see. I'd like to see him play and light up the scoreboard the next four weeks. Say..... 3 touchdowns a game and minimal picks, that would give the entire team confidence going into next year. The offense starts clicking, suddenly the F.O. takes their mouths off the pistol barrel.
