Here's an interesting stat on Mr Regan Upshaw

Somebody needs to tell Upshaw that the only sacks that count are the ones BEFORE the whistle blows. Here's a stat : Upshaw has 4 times as many Personal Fouls called against him, as he does sacks......He's paid to get sacks, but he has 1 sack, and 4 Personal Fouls. And I'm just counting his Personal Foul penalties, NOT his total penalties. What does that tell you about Upshaw ? Is he a liability or an asset ?

Upshaw is garbage. Way to run the franchise where it costs you more to cut a guy than it does to keep him...especially when he blows like Upshaw. Keep him and sit his ass on teh bench, if it's not going to be beneficial to cut him. May as well trade him for a late draft pick or something...at least get something for him.

lets also remeber that Bruce has played most of the pass downs this year so throw the sack stat out.

Lets play him full-time and see what happens.

Wonderful, so the solution is to play him more, so instead, he'll end up with 12 'Roughing the Passer' penalties, and just 3 sacks

thanks for amplifying my point several weeks ago which was disputed by more than a few posters here, namely that Upshaw is a waste of roster space

we gave $2 million to a guy who missed most of the 2002 season with a severe knee injury and who has had an attitude problem at previous stops in Tampa and Oakland.

Upshaw never hit Brooks on that play, even the announcers questioned why he was penalized. The penalty he got in the Tampa game was also very questionable, even Spurrier said so. Upshaw has played pretty well of late, especially against the run, a lot better than Bruce has played.
