So I'm no lawyer but is this even legal?  Can the Feds stop a state from enacting a law until the DOJ has a chance to review it?  How would she enact and enforce this policy?  I would think the only way to stop a state would be through the judicial branch.

Gonna create federal abortion centers that are exempt from state laws?

But on a more realistic note, I assume what she's actually promising is "I will appoint judges who are just as partisan on this issue as the Republicans do."

And no, I'm not sure I approve of that message, either.

And this is whats frustrating me so much with most of these interviews.  Why was she not challeneged on that?  Make candidates actually explain HOW they are going to do whatever it is they propose.

What's the argument they are trying to make here? Electing centrists will just provoke the hard right to rise up, so we should elect fascists to begin with?

I think the argument is that neoliberalism fuels the rise of the extreme right, but a more leftist liberal party would limit its rise.

The folly of the argument is that even if neoliberalism is abandoned in favor of more leftist democratic socialism, the extreme right will continue to consolidate power and influence. The rise of a fascist right is driven far more by cultural issues than economic ones.

The opposite.

Neoliberal policies have lead to the rise of fascism. We have seen that manifest itself in this country.

I dont know if this true. I am not denying that there wouldn't be fascist and racist elements out there but how loud would those voices be if people had adequate healthcare, clean water, and even a pension?

I submit that a strong percentage of TrumpKlan, if not a majority, have all three of these things.

I’ll also remind you that noted Neo-Liberal Hillary Clinton first ran afoul of the right wing by developing a plan to provide Universal Health Care.  The whole “lock her up” thing started right then and there.

These two points wouldn't be nearly as contradictory if it was the liberals trying to take away everybody's health care, water, and pension.

The issue with neoliberalism/neoliberals is not their policies necessarily (although sometimes, yeah) but their passiveness over the past 30 years to stand by and let themselves be run over by the right-wing.  Neo Liberalism's failing combined with their passiveness and going along with big money being in the equation has allowed a much harder right wing to rise and usher in policies that are taking the country backwards.

Ah, so now your point is that the liberals caused fascism, because after fascism gained power, they didn't stop them?

This bank robbery isn't the robber's fault. Nope. It's the bank's fault, for not stopping it.

My point is Neo-Liberals are helping this rise of fascism.

I am not absolving fascists for being fascists. I am saying these policies are giving it life. Please catch up.

Exactly.

If you are playing tug of war, the neoliberal stance has been to move with the opponent to the direction they want, instead of taking a hard stance and pulling back. Although I think that passivity is in the policies too.

Fascists, Nazis and Bears - oh my. You guys that use the first two terms loosely (even on Trump) paint yourselves as being historically illiterate. If Fascists were in power as some of you claim there would be no election next year that could threaten their rule.

Uh-Oh and now he is in power - right? So why are you all arguing over and attacking Biden - He won't be allowed to run for President if Fascists are in power.

The Republican party is filled with white supremacists, facists, and Nazis. You seem to be ok with that. #Freedom.

Just curious. When Democrats are repeatedly called socialists by elected officials and national "news" outlets do you fell the same as when Republicans are called Nazis, fascists, and white supremacists? Or are you historically illiterate yourself?

I believe there are some Dems who call themselves socialists. Most elected Dems aren't socialists but some are and they are loud.
