I guess given your analysis Bloomberg is a lock for an Independent run?

I don't think he's running at all. He couldn't win a Democratic nomination, even though he's really a Democrat. They aren't giving the nomination to a new York billionaire.

As for independent run, he would probably tip the election to Donald; so he won't run.

Too early to look at the 2020 Dem field through the “who can beat Trump” lens. There’s like a 50/50 chance he won’t be President by 2020 and at least a 33% chance he’s in jail.

GOP primary would be wide open again without Trump. Pence, Kasich, and Cruz probably frontrunners for the nomination.

I'm beginning to think those are empty promises .

I think Pence could do better than Trump did in the swing areas, but I 've thought he could do well for awhile if he was given a wider base to start with.

"Democrats also failed to capitalize on, and may have been damaged by, winning back control of the House of Representatives, but not the Senate, in the 2018 midterms. Mr. Trump proved effective, if characteristically vitriolic, in making a foil of the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi. Efforts to impeach the president mainly served to energize his base. Polling surveys suggested that wavering voters saw a Democratic Party more invested in humiliating the president than in helping them."

Ive held my nose and voted democrat in presidential elections since 2008, but i find that increasingly harder to do.  Their shift leftward recently has edged towards tyranny.  The constant america bashing and hypocrisy is vomit worthy.  The other choice is the GOP, which appears to have already arrived at tyranny.  Really hoping I will have an option in 2020, but not holding out hope.

You must be talking about the socialism talk.  It's crazy, I hate seeing it, and I see other people my age either saying "ya, that sounds better then this crap" and other's like me saying "All you're doing is scaring half the country to death with this socialism crap".  Liberals can't afford to let someone like Bernie be the face of the Democratic party, otherwise we'll end up stuck voting for something we don't want either and continue losing elections.
